Grasp the collar that surrounds the button and turn counterclockwise to unscrew it and allow the cover to be removed.
Hope this helps.

Fix a running toilet

Faulty flapper sealing. After a flush, the flapper does not seat correctly or completely allowing water to run into the bowl.

Cannot remove the lid

Hi and Wlecome to FixYa. I am Kelly

Unscrew the flush plunger assembly on the very top of the tank. It unscrews counter clockwise and then lifts out. Then you can lift off the tank lid.

When you go to put the top back you will have to align the flush pin gears in the slot.

If your talking about the seat.... then there are 2 nuts underneath the water closet at the back that must be removed.

Thanks for using FixYa.

I am having trouble getting the top of the cistern of an Omnia Pro suite. Does the flush button unscrew or clip off.

The flush button should unscrew from the top of the lid. to replace the flush mec. and to remove the lid.

Good luck

Cannot remove top of cistern

There are some dual flush cisterns where you have to depress one button to reveal a cavity in the second button. Put a screwdriver in that cavity to lever out the second button, then release the first button and prise that out.

Underneath the buttons is a screw which must be unscrewed to release the cistern lid.

Not sure if this will apply to you... but if not, good luck anyway.

Maybe I'm an idiot but I don't know how to get the top off of my

The cistern lid is held down by the chrome assembly (which includes the two buttons that you press to make the toilet flush) sticking up in the middle of the lid. You need to unscrew that (anticlockwise) to be able to lift the lid off, to get to the inlet valve, etc.

If the water is running in very slowly, chances are high that the small screen filter under the inlet valve is partially blocked. Working inside the cistern, you need to unscrew the inlet valve assembly (noting the order in which the various parts come out!), then unscrew the cranked fitting just under that, to get the screen/filter.
