Re: maystar mcd303rds

Hi there,

I have just had the same problem. I have a N reg vectra and just fitted a Maystar radio. I too was getting the PHONE IN message randomly when the ignition was on (fine when not).

I think the PHONE IN is a mute function to cut sound when a call comes in. On my connections it was the brown wire - it should tell you the "Phone in" connection in the manual or on the bottom of the radio. I disconnected this and taped up with insulation tape to avoid connecting with anything else. Worked for me!

I have two 15" pioneer tsw383c subwoofer i want to put them in my chevy Silverado year is 2000 i like to no the specs or smallest box available to fit in there

do not waste your time on a small box if you want good sound. also sealed boxes suck and do not produce sound as well as ported enclosures

I have a 'Eurovox' car radio/cassette with 'Land Rover' on the front, but the two plugs do not match up with my Range Rover. So I would like to know how to, (after removing the plugs), wire it in. These...

If you leave the original plugs connected to the radio unit you will be able to get an adapter from a motor store. In the UK Halfords keep most types, in the US I don't know what similar stores you have but i would imagine Radio Shack or similar will keep the type you need. Take the radio unit with you so they can see the connectors on the unit - they will probablky be ISO fittings and then they will be able to advise the Range Rover fitting.

If they do not have a suitable adaptor, ask them to identifiy the connectors on the radio unit (DIN, ISO etc) and then ask your local Landrover/Range Rover dealer if they can supply an adaptor for you.

Hope this clears your problem, please mark the post as Fixya.

Wire from car battery to amp melts fuse holder

total the fuses on the amp eg.3 -20amp fuses = 60 amps and get a fuse holder that can handle that amount of amps the amplifier draws with matching fuse and change the one that was melted ,also very important is to have a clean grounded wire to chasis from amplifier.

You must be using the wrong code

Remove the radio from the dashboard

Post the PART/MODEL NUMBER beginning with P++++++++++ and also the SERIAL NUMBER beginning with T++++++++++

Using this information a code can be calculated

I had the battery changed in my 1998 porsche Boxster and need a code for the radio to work - I can't find my owner's manual with the code in it.

you may be required to remove the radio from the dash in order to obtain the serial number on the radio... but maybe not...
Call the dealership and ask to speek with someone about your radio code...

To nip problems like this in the bud... there is a small device you can purchass for a few doillars that you plug into the cig. lighter socket to keep electronics like radios from having to be reset when servicing the battery... maybe chack into one of those for next time?
