Make sure that the mike gain & RF gain controls are turned clockwise & the squelch is counter-clockwise.

SOURCE: Cobra 29 LTD Classic not transmitting or receiving

As I understand from a tech friend of mine, most truck beds are not grounded well enough. Perhaps you could borrow/purchase a magnet mount antenna and locate it on the roof, for testing. Then you would have it narrowed down to the location.

SOURCE: Cb radio does not transmite

You might be having a dead key problem. Do you run a power mic? if so check the battery in it if you dont run a power mic then your have RF gain problems. Take it to a local cb/truck stop and get them to look at it.

You didnt open it up and mess with it did you?

SOURCE: swr meter not moving.

If the radio is working don't worry about the meter unless you absolutely want it. These little meters are not very accurate or reliable. Get an external SWR meter to check the antenna.

Binatone Action 1000 Two-way radios. We can't transmit to others. Only our selves.

These radios are probably working on a different call guard tone than the other users you are trying to reach. If you have a manual, look up instructions on how to program a different tone. Hope this helps!

Im having problems with my midland 77-095 im reciving lound and clear but my output is terrible people cant hear me but i can hear them>???? thanks

it is possible you are hearing peoplein skipland. skip is an atmospheric phenomenon that causes radio waves to travel hundreds even thousands of miles. there a lot of cb operators that run high power amplifiers which would make their signal go even further. this would mean you would hear them well, but your radio doesn't have enough power to reach that person. right now we are in a solar cycle which has been causing skip daily. if you know that the peson you are trying to talk to is local and within. a few.miles then there may be an issue wit either your radio or antenna. the antenna must be tunedto the radio or you signal will not radiate off the antenna completely. over time it can destroy the radios transmit circuit. so if you have never.tuned the antenna you may be causing the radio not to work well and you may have hurt the transmit transistor.

I can't hear people

Make sure you don't try to transmit without a proper CB antenna, it will damage & blow out the power transistors! If you have another CB close by, try listening without the antenna attached If you even faintly hear whats transmitted by the other CB, your antenna cable is probably shorted out... AGAIN don't try to transmit with no antenna or a shorted cable it will damage the unit!

We are unable to hear caller but they can hear us just fine.

Hi Jess, apparently it is because the cordless phone is transmitting on the same frequency as WIFI network (wireless broadband). I am having the same problem as you and thats what I have found out. Looks like we need to buy a DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Technology) phone. Problem solved, so they say. Paul

Bad transmission

Troubleshooting ideas:
1) Try the radio without the remote speaker mic (RSM) attached. Do you still have the same issue?
2) Check the RSM's mic area for dirt/debris or something covering the hole. It is usually in the lower corner of the grill area of the mic.
3) Try someone else's RSM on your radio and see if the problem is still there.
4) Check your battery. An old or defective battery will cause transmit issues. Try a known-good battery from another radio to see.
5) If all of the above are addressed and you still have an issue, you may be experiencing low transmit power, and your radio would need to be serviced.

Haave you checked your swr recently/ If yes, did you use a seperate meter or did you use one built in the radio?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Motorola FV500 2 way radio can send/cant receive

Do you hear the Beeps on the speaker? Check for the QT and the code squelch are the same in both radios, try to set code squelch in "0". Make sure that the radio is not receiving or the other one is not transmiting, with two radios will see the same.
