    does your OS boots?

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

If I understand right you're computer turns on but won't boot up? Could you be more detailed, such as anything you see (or don't see) on the screen or any beeping patterns you hear while trying to boot up? I hope we can get your Aspire One to work, I'm writing from one and I love it.

I am not sure what you mean by "take out battery and power supply". You need one of those to fun the computer. Be specific on the issue and what you have tried so far.

May be that the BIOS requires settingup. if the fan starts then the battery is fine and the prob is beyond the power supply. Does it show you a blinker in the left top corner of the screen?

You could plug a monitor into the vga port to determine wether it's a graphics card issue or not.If the monitor shows a display then its likely a screen or software problem.

Acer AM1100-E1304a do not start.

Try removing the battery. It may be the battery is eating all the power that the supply can produce, leaving nothing to run the computer. That could happen with a shorted cell or a completely dead battery. IF the power supply you are using is the correct one for your laptop.

I have a T3626 emachine that I replaced the drive.

check all your ground screws on the motherboard. If that doesn't work try booting it up with out the hard drive. if that doesn't work, pop out the BIOS battery and unplug your computer, let it sit for about a min. and put the battery back in and restart.

Power not on

  • First if you have move the computer recently, check that nothing has moved inside box and unplug cards if any including memery and replace again.
  • Check switch if working, does it turn on if you hold button? If so New switch required.
  • Most common problem: Power supply might be blown, see if the fan is running in the back of box when you start-up. Otherwise you will need to check a few things before you replace with new one. Check that the CPU fan inside box is running. Check that there isn't dust build up on fan stopping from running. Might need replacing. Try also taking out battery and starting up computer. If all else fails you will need to replace power supply with a 500watt or more power supply. If you have another computer on hand, you could try the power supply from that system as look as it has same connectors and try and run with that. If works then you know what to do. If nothing, the motherboard might be gone, or cpu even. Try also taking memory out and replacing. see if runs.
  • Before you give up, unplug all cables to hard drive, cd roms and DVD-rom and try to turn on

NO BOOT

I believe you power supply is bad and needs changing,,
however try this first before changing the power supply
unplug your system.

1.) Open up the computer
2.) remove the memory
3.) Remove the mainboard battery 4e78012.jpg see the silver pin to the right> pull that ayaw from the battery and it will popout

4.) hit the power button 5 times
5.) put your memory and battery back in
6.) put your powercable back in and try booting it..

IF THAT FAILS,, REPLACE YOUR POWER SUPPLY.
