Re: extremely short battery life

Do you use alkeline batteries? if yes then they would end in 20-25 shots. Instead, use rechargable batteries of 2500 mah which will last long, very long. On my Cybershot H1, they give aproximate 350 shots with single recharge.

Go for Sony Original Batteries or Uniross brand also works fine.

2300 mah/ 2500 Mah any will work.. :-)

I recently won an E10 in an auction. I did not receive any paper work or anything with it, so I don't know a whole lot about this little camera. But what I do know is that when I turn it on, it go

There are other complaints all over the internet about this cameras' battery life. Are you using NiMH batteries or alkaline? If you used 8 you must be using alkaline. If they are heavy duty regular batteries you are using the wrong kind of battery. NiMh hold more power and last longer with a flatter power curve up till they are about done. Recahrging means not buying lots of batteries too. They should last for a long, long time; like a week or two at least. The manual and quick guide can be downloaded in PDF from

Short battery life with AAs or camera won't even power up on new batteries?

Many digital cameras (eg Samsung D53, Nikon 2100) have extremely poor battery life with alkaline batteries (under 20 shots!). Sometimes they won't even take a single picture.

Try using rechargeable batteries or "oxyride" disposable batteries. They perform infinately better.

Two approx.18 month old battery died and i bought a replacement yesterday. is this the normal life expectancy? 2nd. Today, with a totally charged battery, I took eight pictures. Later I...

To answer your questions, depending on how much use, (meaning how many snap shoots) will dictate whether your camera has reached its life expectancy. The proper procedure for long life with the battery is to have it totally drain out before charging it. If charged too soon the battery has a memory and will only work as long as the short period the battery was charged. It sounds like camera is worn out. Good Luck

My Z812 keeps telling me I need to reset the date/time every time I turn it on, even if I have just done it. Also drawing batteries very quickly (lithium, camera type)

It may only happen enter date and time if you remove the battery in the camera., If your not removing the batteru out of the camera you should not recieved that message, unless battery is out of charge or no power.

You should use this battery Kodak Li-Ion rechargeable battery KLIC-8000. This is a special battery for Z812 camera,

Note: You must also need to purchase a charger for this type of battery.
I guarantee you it will provide stable longer power for on your camera

Brand new alkaline batteries in my Sony Cybershot DSC-H2 go flat extremely quickly. Is the camera broken or am I using the wrong batteries?

Hey sdevine10,
The more you use the flash and the zoom the shorter your battery life should be, and the more often you view your pictures using the cameras' LCD screen the shorter battery life you will have. I would also suggest you use the NiMH rechargeable batteries that should have come with the camera, because they have more that 4 times the capacity than normal alkaline batteries have. I hope this helps!

Batteries are Depleted

A camera rep told me that use about 2500mi (?) batteries instead of the 900 I was using otherwise the batteries will be depleted with just one picture. Digital cameras or any other digital piece of equipment needs the extra power. Make sure that your charger will charge the 2500 power ones fully.

What causes bad battery life?

Bad battery life has a number of major causes: The primary causes are: Selection of the wrong battery chemistry or type for the camera used Extremely power-intensive use of the camera A damaged battery (probably the least common cause of bad battery life) The way in which the camera is used is at least as important as the battery chemistry selection in influencing battery life. The highest power-usage modes in any digital camera will be video and live preview. Thus, heavy users of these modes will see the shortest battery life. Other significant power consumers are the strobe, zoom motor, fill flash, and the image LCD display. For longer battery life, use these modes only as necessary.
