Question about Car Audio & Video

1 Answer

XM sat does not work. Installed jvc kd-hdr50 in 2001 saturn sc2. wired metra 70-2002 wiring harness wire for wire (colorwise)to jvc wiring harness except for blue/white remote antenna wire. I have the din cable of the CNPJVC1 JVC Cable Adapter for NP2000UC connected to the head unit and also connected to the mini tuner. I DID NOT connect the two audio wires from the cable adapter as I didnt see a place for them to connect. The mini tuner is connected and activated. XM doesn't list as one of the radeo's sources.

Did you try reseating it in the cradle? Check the connections to the cable too.

Check also if installation was proper. If not 100% sure redo it and follow these steps.

Need to find a wire harness to in my radio does not have to on that goes from radio to car harness. where can i find on for a JVC model KD-LH1100

Car harness adapters can be purchased in Best Buy or Crutchfield just give them the make & year of your car. Try Metra and call to see if they still make Universal harnesses for JVC so you can connect it to a universal harness to your type of car. Just click them together to avoid soldering or taping with electrical tape.

I use to work for Circuit City Roadshop and they(METRA) only made it Exclusively for Circuit City and nobody else in 2008.

I need a JVC KD-S550 wiring diagram for a 95 Saturn SC2

You do not need a wiring diagram....just go here and buy this harness, or purchase one at an electronics store. You will probably want to purchase an antenna extension adapter cable as well...

Connect jvc kd-lh1150 in elantra 2001... different connector

Hello claude_bouth,You need a vehicle specific aftermarket connector generally called a "wiring harness". Your JVC came with a plug that fits the back of the receiver with "pigtail" wires which you splice to the harness wires. http://www.SonicElectronix.com sells the Metra 70-7301 which appears to be the correct harness for your Elantra. You can tap into the wiring of the car harness and splice the wires by function into the appropriate car wires, but using the aftermarket vehicle specific wiring harness is a lot easier and you don't need to disturb the vehicle wiring in any way, just plug into it. It also makes it possible to re-install the factory radio if you ever need to do so. If you choose to tap and splice, you can find your Elantra's wiring color code at http://www.modifiedlife.com.Hope this helps.

Will this stereo work in the cavalier?

You will require an installation kit. Your car has a double DIN opening and the AR5500 is single DIN. Other than that, the installation should be as normal aftermarket.

You'll also need a wiring harness. According to Installer.com, the Metra part number is 71-2003-1.
