My brother has a kenwood KDC-Mp245, PROTECT keeps appearing on the face plate, not flashing. We were told we need the security code, while my brother was instaling it never asked him to set a code is there...

if thread is good quality you may have a sharp groove in your needle plate hole from needle breakage. if so, polish with emery tape.

My Ricoh 3035 / Savin 8035 prints uniformly light pages, and tells me to add toner, with a FULL toner bottle. The developer unit itself is completely packed with toner. There are no other errors set. The issue described is recent, within the last 500 copies. Prior to that this machine was running perfectly. I've had this copier for a couple of years. It was used. It NOW has 617,871 prints/copies/faxes as of today. I replaced the developer unit remanufactured and new developer at 591,810. The transfer belt and cleaning blade are new at 607,638. I replaced the PCU with a completely remanufactured unit at 607,688. The fuser was replaced with remanufactured unit also at 607,688. I was STILL having some issues with bad quality copies, so I narrowed the matter down to a defective drum in the remanufactured PCU. I replaced the drum, and at THAT time, I installed every part in the Savin Maintenance Kit PMB082150K, which I previously received with the copier. I also replaced the PCU Entrance Seal and tape the long mylar one at the top of the drum. When I installed the developer unit, I initialized the settings, pursuant to the Service Manual, and the same with the drum, and the appropriate one each time I previously cleaned the ID Sensor Today, I went through the trouble of replacing the ID Sensor, initialized the same, and it made no difference. The copier has run just fine for the last couple of months, and then as I stated in the question, about 500 copies ago, all of the copies suddenly became light. No, it's not the density setting. I've done everything except do a factory reset. Incidentally, I have the Ricoh 3035 Service Manual, and also the Parts Manual. Experientially, the only computers I have ever purchased are 2 of them, for my office, in 10 years. Other than that, I have built every computer I've ever made, from parts. As far as this copier, I have done the copier maintenance, per the maintenance schedule, myself, and when it appears that maintenance needs to be done. This problem however, is driving me nuts. As I said, the only symptoms of the light copies are that add toner light that comes on periodically, and toner absolutely packed into the developer unit entrance such that its spills out when I remove the PCU. One last thing, and this is an when all else fails kind of thing: since the toner bottle is full, I open the front door, and using a channellock, I fix the add toner problem by rapping very lightly on the end of the PCU, and the developer unit! This DOES fix the toner out problem every time, but it does NOT fix the light copies. Simply opening the door, sliding the toner carrier out, putting it back, and then closing the door, and repeating that process a couple of times sometimes also works.
