Need to go into the menu look for the channel setup then check the skipped channels make sure channel 1 isn't the only Channel not checked also Look at Your scanned channels in the channel list how many do you have is channel 1 it ? you may need to rescan your channels . If the TV worked OK before but Not now try resetting Your TV , BUT do this last as You will need to reset all the parameters in Your initial setup as well as rescanning channels also the Volume may blast you after reset I always install a set of earphones in the Audio phone jack first . To reset the TV Unplug it from the back of the set wait 30-40 seconds reconnect the plug while holding the Power Button Reset Your Options and Settings then Rescan your channels Don't forget the volume and to unplug earphones Good Luck
Have you tried unplugging the TV..holing the power button for 30 seconds, then plugging the TV back in? That resets the TV. Also, if you can get into the menu and select TV..then auto scan..that might work. I would try resetting the TV first.
1 Press POWER to turn the power off.
2 Press TV/VCR, current VCR Output Channel will appear on the LCD display.
3 Each time TV/VCR is pressed for 2 seconds, the LCD display changes as follow
clock press tv/vcr RF3 2 secondes later RF4.
• VCR Output Channel is automatically set during EZ Set Up.
1. If Channel 3 (or 4) is an active broadcast channel in your area, the Channel 4 (or 3) will be set.
2. If both channel are the active channel or none active channel, the VCR Output Channel will be set to Channel 3.
• Cancelled the EZ Set Up by pressing POWER during EZ Set Up before setting the Output Channel.
• VCR Output Channel will not change to previous VCR Output Channel if TV/VCR is pressed continuosly for more than 2
seconds.
What's the model on the TV? Can try to look for the manual online. Might be worth a shot to try a capacitive discharge (unplug power, try to turn tv on a couple of times while power is unplugged, plug back in and try again). That may reset it.
Can also try going in the menus and rescanning for channels.
If this doesn't work, try reseting your tv by one of these options: 1. leave unplugged overnight 2. press and hold power button for 10 seconds 3. try holding up and down volume buttons at same time for 10 seconds. It is most likely your power supply or mabey even system board. Either way about couple hundred dollars easily
It's possible that V-chip is locked.. Go to the menu and see if the lock option is active... The backdoor password is 0-7-1-1 twice.. Entering it the first time, if it times out, will display "incorrect" just enter it again and it should ask you for a new password..
If that's not it let me know and we'll try a couple other things.
