    Hi there

The situation with the TV is as follows. When the TV is turned on, a blue screen with a big red lock on the left top corner appears of the screen and the unit does not accept any input at all apart from the on/off button on the remote. The code that You've provided did nothing as I can not access the menu. I've tried turning the set off power for 24 hrs and that changed nothing. I have also followed Your instructions and nothing worked. Before I take it to the service centre, I wonder if there is a master reset button somewhere or a command that will allow the TV to be operated again. I did not set any parental lockdown, nor did i set any password on the unit.

    Please help.

    Hi there

The TV in question is a TV/DVD combo made by TEVION, model number TEV2184. I have the original remote control an the user manual.

As written earlier, the unit is lockout, that is when turned on by either the remote or through the main switch a blue screen appears with a red lock in the left upper corner. No other functions on neither the front panel nor the remote work except the off button. There is no disc inserted, but loading one also makes no difference.

I have tried to enter the code as You have suggested, but there was no response.

I have also removed the main power cord from mains and left the unit off for 48 hrs. When connected back, there was no change.

Before taking the TV into service, I want to make sure that there really is not some simple solution to resolve this.

    Looking forward to Your help

A model number is required to look up the unlock procedure and/or supply a manual.

Thanks!!

Appreciate your postback and additional information of the unit being a Tevio TEV-2184.

Unfortunately, there is limited technical support I can share as this
particular model is only available in UK (Europe) and Australia.

Other than echo what was posted on the parental lock removal, there is
no other easy user doable action. If the lock removal would not
operate, them I am afraid that the services of an authorized service
center is the only course of action left.

Is there a way you can share the owner's manual?

Hi,

It sounds like someone set your parental controls up, you will need the password or to have it reset ..

STEP !:
Turn on the TV and grab the remote. In most cases, you will need the original remote to unlock the TV if you aren't sure of the unlock code. If you don't have the original remote, you will need to purchase one.

STEP 2:

Look at the screen. If you see a blank screen with a red key on the bottom of the screen, press 'Function' and 'Mute' at the same time. This should unlock the channel. This is an option for people who want the TV to stay locked but, want to be able to bypass the lock to watch a certain show or channel. All other channels will remain locked and the TV will fully lock when it is turned off.

STEP 3:
Unlock all of the channels on the TV by entering the factory reset code. There are three main reset codes that TV manufacturers set. These are 0711, 6688 and 3308. Try each one until you find the one that works. This will reset the TV to original factory settings. When you do this, you will loose any information that you have stored in the TV, such as favorite channels, automatic timers and the clock. You will have to go through the full initial set up.

STEP 4:
Call the technical support service number in your owner's manual if none of those codes work. A technician can help you troubleshoot the television because the problem may not be the locking control. When you call, make sure that you have the model number and serial number of the TV

STEP 5:
Take your television to a TV repair shop. In some cases, a professional who access to wiring diagrams for your television set may have to rewire certain components in order for the television to unlock. This is usually the case when the TV locks by itself while it is on.

Venturer Tv to Sky

It sounds like your TV is on the wrong input. Look for a button that says input or source. Depending on the TV this will either provide an onscreen menu to select an input or it will simply scroll through the inputs. Turn on the Sky box and run through the inputs until you see something that looks like your Sky Box.

Hi I can't figure out how to get my N64 to work on my samsung flatscreen. My friend showed how to do it a while back but now i've forgotten. I've been told I need a scart cable but I...

Whoever told you you need a scart cable is wrong, The N64 is an old console therefore requires you to plug it in via a standard ariel port. You then should turn you N64 on and search for new channels using your TV menus to either automatically search for them or you can tune your tv manually. either way you will probably need to fine tune afterwards.
