Where to apply grease to brew group

I can't tell from the manual just where to grease the brew group. It doesn't seem to make sense to grease the slot.

While performing the descaling the brew group gets stuck

Have you check if the knob on the top of the machine to distribute hot water is fully closed. If on the edge, you may not get hot water flowing but the light may be on.

Look on page 12 of the manual. It explain the the meaning of the led flashing or stayed on from the control panel

Good luck

Why are the used grinding pads on my saeco odeo giro very loose and watery

I can personally confirm this fix from another similar question works: "I throughly cleaned and lubricated the brew group as directed by the manual. Apparently if the brew group doesn't move smoothly enough, it won't grind the correct amount of beans. Try lubricating and then brewing 2-3 cups to have the machine recalibrate the grind amount." My manual didn't have very good info about lubricating the brew group, so I referred to some Youtube videos demonstrating the methods. A sourced a 3rd party food safe lubricant from Amazon which I applied with Q-tips, but in retrospect they also sell Saeco "maintenance kits" which would have been cheaper & easier to apply, plus it includes a new O-ring.

I have had a similar problem. Don't know whether it was the same. Take out the brew group and low behind that is a V-shaped opening, with a small mouth pointing towards the front of the macine.
Take a large paperclip and open this small outlet. Then clean with a wet cloth the V-shaped opening behind it.
Thus MY problem was solved.
From your info it would seem that you already tried this.
Good luck! Bob Hempenius.

Make sure the brew group is in
rest position; the two references
must match.(look at the marks/arrows on the side of the brew group)

Make sure the components are in
the correct position.
The hook shown must be in the
correct position; to check its
position, firmly press the "PUSH"
button.

hey just manually pull down brew group internals till neutral reached push waste flap in to lock position seen on rear tab and leave brew group unit and water tray / waste bucket out, place a small magent / metal on bottom rear left of inside panel ( check waste unit for small metal tab and align magnet on rear where this sits, at the same time then place small magnet where door tab hits plastic sensor in machine roof then power off and on machine resets to neutral remove magnets insert brew group and waste trays and u should be done. WARNING !! DO NOT ATTEMPT WITH BREW GROUP IN PLACE KEEP RESETTING MACHINE IF YOU FAIL AS IT SETS A FAULT AND WILL ENDLESSLY SPIN DRIVE

After replacing the filter in the tank, keep the button pressed; when the indicator light is flashing, then release the button.

Also at times, the gears in the brew drive assembly will not complete the cycle to the proper start position for different reasons. Some of the reasons are:

  1. Brew group jammed or blocked.
Note: A jammed or blocked brew group can happen when the brew group starts the cycle but doesn’t finish it.
  2. Either one of the micro-switches in the brew drive has gone bad.
  3. Brew drive motor failure.
  4. Broken teeth on either of the brew drive gears.
  5. Dirty brew group, covered by coffee grinds.
  6. Brew group or gears not lubricated.
  7. Connections to the board from brew drive assy., or motor have gone bad

Have you tried to clean the shower in the brew group, then adjust the grinds about 2 numbers coarser and test?

The axle (?) that fits into the brew group seems to be struggling

The lubrication goes on the brew unit, there may be grounds on the rails and around the chamber where the large O-ring is located.

Brew Unit Stuck Seems to be in Mid Cycle

Remove the dredge drawer. Open the right side door. On the left side and towards the back of the brew group, there is a single screw. Remove the screw. Grab the handle and pull carefully, but firmly with a ****. The brew group should come out. There is a piece that remains in the machine. Slide the piece down and to the right and it will come off. Insert the piece into the hole on the backside of the brew group with the clip up. Tighten the screw and move brew group back into position. If your brew group did not come out please give us a call.
To return the brew group to the centered position, you first need to drop the funnel. To do this look on the opposite side of the brew group from the handle. At the top you will see an object that looks like a sharks fin. If you follow this piece down you will see 2 horizontal bars on the brew group body. Push your finger between these 2 bars and the funnel will drop. Now you can push the puck slide on the left side down and to the center. If you look down through the funnel you should see a piston. This should be centered in the funnel. If not just push the slide to the right until it does. Push the press button and you are now ready to reinsert the brew group in to the machine. First you must close the door and turn on the machine without having the brew group in. You will hear the motor turn on and when it stops completely, open the door and insert the brew group.
