Hey there, sorry to say but chances are that if you are hearing a buzzing that is your compressor trying to come on but is locked up. The first thing I would try would be to install a hard start kit. I am not sure how mechanically inclined you are but there is a capacitor for your compressor that is an oval shaped cylinder with two or three wires coming from it. There are two terminals on it and the hard start had two wires, put one wires on each terminal, doesn't matter which one goes where. click the following link to purchase a hard start kit

super boost

here is a simple diagram showing the shape of the run capacitor you have and the super boost.

There is a good chance that the super boost may not work but for the money even with rush shipping it may be worth it, but again on fridges, our compressor is probably done. If yyou can give me the manufacturer and model number off the compressor itself (if unsure of the model, give all the numbers) I may be able to find it for you so you can purchase it without the service guys markup. He will hate that though, lol. Let me know.

I have the same issue, but determined that it is the Overload/Relay connected to the compressor. This link shows the diagram (Part 4 is the Overload/Relay) and you can order a replacement

Freezer has stopped

If it is a frost free side by side fridge/freezer, check evaporator fun in the freezer. While doing that, check is evaporator is full of ice.

if the evaporator is iced up and the fan can spin freely, you have a broken fan. Replace it.

If evaporator and the fan are iced up, you have a broken thermostat. Defrost ice with hot water.
Turn it on, if it starts to cool effectively, replace thermostat.

Fridge not cooling, freezer not freezing, buzzing sound

with any luck this is you overload and relay
it is the plug on the actual compressor, this is very easy to replace, if you replace it and it does exactly the same thing its your internal relay and your compressor is done....

Candy fridge freezer

it should come back after about 20 mins only and should cool back after about 10 mins.

i'm afraid the buzzing sound could be coming from your compressor which can not start. the over current relay is tripping off after 20 seconds to prevent the compressor from burning up.
i suggest to unplug the ref, let it cool for 1 day, re plug it after a day and observe the compressor if would run.

if the buzzing sound is still there and the unit is no longer cooling, then the compressor is not running.
check the relay of the compressor. it could just be the relay.

My Kenmore side by side fridge is not cooling

Hellocdbowling
welcome to fixya

You said,
It has been making a buzzing sound the past couple of days like something is trying to turn on but then just clicks off. This mornign everything in freezer is completely thawed and the fridge side is not very cold either. What is going on???

Do not wait to call service .
Before your food is all ruined.
You may need to find the leak and replace the a shot of coolant that may have leaked out!
But be ready for anything if you let it go with that buzzing sound for a long time with out correcting it!

If it sounds wrong, it is!
Next time follow your feeling and act. Don't wait!
I am sorry I am not able to be there hands on.

Thank You for asking us for our advice.

Freezer works fine...refrigerator section

Have you noticed more frost in the freezer than usual? It sounds like you may have moisture building up and freezing around evaporator fan. The fan blade hitting ice will cause the buzzing until it stops it completely or the evaporator clogs with frost and blocks airflow. If you have frost on food in freezer, check the door seals and make sure nothing is keeping doors from closing completely if you release them about 6" from cabinet.
