What is the IP address of the E1000 router ?
If the IP address of E1000 router is, Then change the IP address of WRT54G router to Connect the Ethernet cable from the Ethernet port of E1000 router to the Ethernet port of WRT54G router ( port 1 of E1000 to port 1 of WRT54g). Disable the DHCP server.

You can do it in a different way also.
If the IP address of E1000 is then change the IP address of the WRT54g to Do not disable the DHCP server of the WRT54G. Connect the E1000 to the Internet port of WRT54G.

Wiring schematic for this router

I am not if you are referring to the Ethernet connection when you said connections to the telephone line. Your WRT54G does not have a telephone port, it has an Ethernet port. If you would like to know how to connect this router to your network here is how you can do it.

If you look on the back of your router, there will be 5 Ethernet ports there (looks like a phone port but it's bigger). They are labeled 1,2,3,4, and WAN or Internet.

The ports labeled 1-4 are for your computer/s that will connect to the router through wired connection using an Ethernet cable. The port all by itself labeled WAN or Internet is where the modem should go to. If you dont have a modem from your ISP and just have a line that is plugged in straight to the computer, that line can be plugged in to that port.

How to configure Linksys WRT54G router with BSNL's C2110 modem?

The Linksys WRT54G broadband router is one of the most popular consumer routers there are. Linksys makes configuring your router easy. This article will walk you through the initial setup options for this particular model, but many of the basics we talk about here can be applied to any router setup. Setting up the router consists of four basic steps, such as Testing your Internet connection, connecting your hardware, setting up the connection and power cycling the entire network. Aside, from setup, we'll also describe some security concerns so you can make an educated decision on the administration of your home network.
Test Your Internet Connection First While this seems like something you would not need to be, make sure your Internet connection actually works. If you haven't already, plug the cable modem directly into the back of the computer and make sure you can get onto the internet. You may need to reboot the machine first.
Connect The Modem and Router to the PC Now that we have confirmed the Internet connection works, the next step is to connect the modem to the router and the router to the PC. The modem will attach to the router's Internet Port. You will then attach the router to the PC via any of the four Ethernet ports in the rear. Check the LED lights in the front of the router to confirm all of the connections are properly made. The Power, WLAN, Ethernet Port to PC and the Internet should all be lit.
Configure The Linksys WRT54G Settings With all connection made, you will now need to login to the router via your web browser. Type and hit enter. You should see the login screen. Leave the username blank and type admin as the password and hit enter.
You will now need to configure the router's connection to the Internet. Under the Setup / Basic Setup section, make sure the router is setup to Automatic Configuration - DHCP. This allows the router to receive an IP address from your Internet Service Provider.
Next, go to the MAC Address Clone tab in the same area and enable Mac Address Cloning. This allows the router to clone your PCs MAC address, as the ISP may require this.
Power Cycle the Router and Modem Now that everything is configured, you'll want to power cycle everything. This is done to make sure everything has an IP address from the modem all the way through to the PC. To power cycle, shutdown everything. Unplug the modem and router power source. Shutdown the computer. Plug in the modem and wait for all green lights. Next, plug in the router and wait a few minutes until its lights are also green. Lastly, boot up the PC. You should have an Internet connection.
Change the Linksys WRT54G Router Password You noticed when setting up the router, that there was a default username of nothing and a password of "admin." Be sure to log back into the router once everything is running properly and type in a username and change the password. If you don't, a hacker that sees you have a WRT54G router could login to the router with the default credentials.

No internet connection...

Check your cable-connections:

AC power to the router.

Cable-modem <----> WAN-port on the router.
DSL-modem <----> WAN-port on the router.

LAN-port on the router <----> Ethernet port on your computer.

Windows 7 should show that you have obtained an IP-address,
starting with '192.168.' that was supplied by the router.

Note that some ISPs (Internet Service Providers) will require
that you tell them the MAC (Media Acccess Control) address
of the _ROUTER_ before the router will be able to connect,
through the ISP's services, to the Internet. Contact your ISP.

Please clarify what you mean by ''Connect with an ethernet cable''

Ethernet cable means CAT5 or UTP for others or LAN cable. The connection should be LAN port of your computer to LAN1 of your router.

And you can connect also the internet cable usually ethernet cable from your internet provider directly to (ethernet cable)WAN port of your router to get signal from your internet provider.

Also if you get this message, this could also means you still don't set up or configure the router's settings to communicate when your LAN and router. They must see each other to access the router's utility webpage.

Need to add Linksys WRT54G-TM wireless router with Linksys SPA 2102 phone adapter

your SPA2102-R seems to have one ethernet connection and one internet connection.
your WRT54G-TM seems to have one internet connection and 4 ethernet connections.

What you are trying to achive is; plug a ethernet cable into the ethernet connection on your SPA2102-R then plug the other end into the internet port of the WRT54G-TM

hope this helps, I have assumed that you intend to use a DSL broadband supplier not ADSL.

if you are changing service from DSL to ADSL then your WRT54G-TM needs to be first in line configured and working. then plug the internet port from the SPA2102-R into any of the WRT54G-TM ethernet ports.

Dificulty in configuring wrtg4g

There are three major steps to setting up a wireless router.

First set up WAN side access to the internet. For this you need information about your internet service provider. Please respond with your internet service provider's name or better yet a link to their help/support website.

I assume you already have access to configure the router at if not please do the following. Open Internet explorer and enter where you would enter and press enter -- do web pages appear in your screen from the wired computer. If so we have manual access to configure the router. If not let me know.

Please reply with a response to this message.

Second we will test wireless connections to the router

Third we will secure the tested wireless connections to the router.

This process will require interaction and several iterations of instructions to complete. Please add a comment to this request with the necessary information if you with to proceed in this fashion.

Pls. help

When dealing with a router there are multiple IP address scenarios, on the internet service provider's (ISP) side you can have either a static or dynamic IP address. I believe most routers by default are set to accept a dynamic IP address from the ISP. Where the ISP permits the router can also assign IP addresses to each device that attaches to it allowing a single ISP connection to be shared by multiple computers. This is also generally the default for routers purchased for home use and the wireless adapters also accept the dynamic IP assignment from the Router. With the logical discussion out of the way I believe you wish to discuss the physical connections to be established. Again this is a generic discussion not knowing your specific environment. port types - I will refer to phone ports (technically RJ-11 either two or 4 wires (these cables plug snugly into phone jacks and modem connectors) and ethernet ports (technically RJ-45 which are 8 wires and to big to fit in phone and modem ports) First you have a connection provided by the ISP for DSL this is your phone line where filters are attached to your voice phones and an unfiltered phone connection goes into the DSL modem's phone port often with an ethernet port. If you have cable generally the cable company provides a connection to a cable modem which has an ethernet or other port to connect to your system. The ethernet port generally connects to the wan port (generally separate) of your wrt54g router with an ethernet cable. Computers can be attached to the wrt54g router using the 4 ethernet ports in a group provided they have an ethernet port too. Wireless cards connect to the wrt54g router through radio waves and with antennas on the router and often internal to the wireless adapter (often embedded in a notebook computer today). These details are enclosed with your ISP's instructions and the Linksys router instructions often with pictures to help the explanation.

if you do not have the user manual.
