Playstation 3 hard disk files corrupted???

hey ash,

ps3 Hard drive needs to be manually reformatted and checked for bad sectors.

as what youve said, you already formatted it and yet it still says there is a corrupt system file.

when i say "manually formatted" you have to clearly take the hard drive out and format it using another pc or ps3.

Sorry joelwilcox i want to tell that when i open my system a screen cames tjat is award phenoix bios in whoch its written hard disk failure is immient. When i continue log on screen cames and it starts...

It depends whether or not the hard disk is corrupt or if there are just missing or corrupt boot or system files. Based on your message above the drive is not corrupt, but is going bad or has some issues. If it's letting you get on and work for a while then it's not corrupt yet, so if you can, start getting your documents, music and pictures off.

One way to tell for sure if the drive is corrupt and the data is not retrievable is to slave it on another computer, but most people don't have the tools to do that, so let's try this:

Run the Check Disk Utility to see if it can repair the damaged files or clusters.

To run the check disk utility you will need a repair disc ora operating system disc. Put the disc in the cd drive and boot fromit. You want to get to the Dos Command Prompt (Black screen with whiteletters) and type the following command: chkdsk /r
Check disk will run well over an hour or two and you will notice thepercentages going from high to low, this is normal. Let it run tocompletion. Then reboot machine.

If check disk fails to solve your problem you might have to reinstall windows.Try doing a Repair Install that way you don't loose your data, documents, music, pictures, videos or programs.

In windows xp you get to the dos command prompt by selecting R for repair whenthe options appear.

In Vista and Windows 7 you want to get to the recoveryconsole and look down at the bottom of the window for the Dos Command.

Factory reset acer aspire 5315 gone wrong

I think you need to reload windows with a operating system disk. Most times the Factory Recovery discs don't work.

Get a windows operating system disk and just reload windows. The disk must match the Certificate of Authentication (COA) sticker on the bottom of her laptop. In other words, don't use a Windows XP Home operating system disk if the COA sticker says Windows XP Professional or you'll never be able to activate windows.

Oh wow, and I bet that lil netbook does not have a cd drive, huh? Now you're kinda up the creek without a paddle.

Run the Check Disk utility but you need a drive to do it.

ASUS eeePC 900 Keeps rebooting at XP load screen.

You're computer is booting that's not your problem. Its just not booting into Windows which is a different subject, so a boot disk will not do you any good. You have some corrupted files at the Windows end not the start up end. The only way to correct the Windows corrupt files is to use a Windows disc. So you'll have to buy/borrow a portable DVD/CD player and a copy of windows. Once the Windows disc loads then its just a matter of clicking on "repair" when the disc asks..that one of the drawbacks of netbooks..If you have any questions let me know..

Do you have a recovery disk?

Insert the recovery disc, (if auto run starts up, just close it)
Go to Start>Run and type cmd and hit enter.
In the DOS command window, type sfc /SCANNOW and hit enter.
That will check your Windows files against the Windows files on the disc. If it finds corrupted or missing ones, it will repair or replace them. You will not lose any data or files this way. (If it will accept the disc again)
