Hi Roxanne
Sounds as though the power-supply might be faulty. As you turn up the volume more power is required from the supply and it's not delivering - hence the light fading.

I have a power supply that died 9 months after buying it and i'm trying to find out where to send it for warrenty 5years and i bought it 3 years ago at Office Depot

Motherboard and power supply design are continually changing. Most likely, you would be best off taking the computer to a computer repair shop and let them install the proper power supply. I say this because if you buy the wrong power supply, and/or install it incorrectly, it might end up costing you far more.
Your warranty situation is not clear, bur it sounds like you are past the warranty period from Office depot.

My CISNET desk top power supply fan needs replacing. Staples ordered the part - but I want to see if I can get it faster. Who sells them? Thanks. (I already googled). The hard drive was replaced 4 months...

A power supply is what is called an FRU (Field Replaceable Unit). Generally you don't replace parts on the power supply, it is cheaper to just order a new power supply. Also, office supply stores aren't usually the best places to buy computer parts. Try this place ( I have bought extensibly from them and have had absolutely no trouble.

Power supply or fuse is shot most likely. You can use a voltmeter and test power coming from power supply to main board. Some units use a high voltage transformer instead of a power supply. You can get parts at

Sounds like the power supply went south on you.

Its likely that one of the supplied voltages is missing or low coming out of the regulated power supply. Its not something that you'll be able to do yourself. If you call a Toshiba authorized service center, expect to spend $250-400 to resolve this.

The battery will not charge. The player was bought 10 mnths ago

Test the voltage at the end of the power supply cord. perhaps the cord is broken or the power supply is dead. The output voltage should be listed on the adapter or by the DC input jack on the unit.
