HP Pavilion not playing Youtube

Hi,

I have a HP Pavilion DV5, up until recently everything has been OK with it, although the machine has always caused some agro (for example the unique selling point being the bluray player didn't work until I had a friend spend time updating the brand new machine). The past few days I have been unable to view youtube videos, I get the message "an error occurred please try again later"

I'm banging my head against a wall now with this problem, I have researched it on the net an the most common advice received was the following:

Uninstall Java and Adobe Flash, Reboot, re-install both programmes via the official websites, reboot and bob's your uncle. In my case though bob isn't my uncle, and this didn't work!!

I used the windows un-installer via control pannel to remove old versions.

I'd really appreciate any detailled guidance on this urgent matter, I work away most of the time and youtube is the one thing that keeps me going sometimes!!!!!

Kind Regards,

Phil

Hello

I've seen this often with XP and Vista. I'm posting the Microsoft instructions. Although this isn't always the cure, it is most of the time. Good Luck

  1. Click Start Collapse this imageExpand this image HP Pavilion not playing Youtube - vistastartbutton.jpg, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then click regedit in the Programs list.

Collapse this imageExpand this image securityshield.jpgIf you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password, or click Continue.
  2. Locate, and then click the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}Caution There can be many instances of the registry subkey that is mentioned in step 2. You must make sure that you are in the appropriate registry subkey before modifying the UpperFilters and the LowerFilters values. To verify that you are in the appropriate registry subkey, make sure that the Default data value is DVD/CD-ROM and the Class data value is CDROM.
  3. In the right pane, right-click UpperFilters, and then click Delete.
  4. Click Yes to confirm the removal of the UpperFilters registry entry.
  5. In the right pane, right-click LowerFilters, and then click Delete.
  6. Click Yes to confirm the removal of the LowerFilters registry entry.
  7. Exit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.
Note After you remove the UpperFilters registry entry and the LowerFilters registry entry, you may lose functionality in certain programs such as CD recording programs. In this scenario, you must reinstall any affected programs. If the problem recurs, contact the program vendor to determine whether an update is available for the program.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Can a hp pavilion dv5-1127cl power port work in a

Hi there
I think in this particular case it might not be wise. The power blocks for these two appear to be different wattages (65 & 90 respectively) and also the connector to the laptop does not look to be the same, in which case damage to the power inlet socket of one or the other laptop could occur if you tried to fit it too energetically. I did find this eBay seller who gave quite a list of compatible laptop models for the power supply he was selling, but although the DV7 series is there, the DV8 series isn't.
AC Adapter Charger for HP Pavilion DV5 1127CL DV5 1128CA Power Supply
I think you would be better to get a power supply that exactly matches to prevent potential future problems.
Perhaps not the advice you were hoping for, but I would get a new one for whichever machine you need it for, and make sure that compatibility with your machine is specifically stated.
Cheers
