SOURCE: Casio 240CR how can I

Turn the key to Z mode. Press CASH. that will reset and print a report. Not sure what you mean by your own amount. the report will show the sales that happened that day. Remember, the first report will have large figures if you have never reset it before but then it will be correct on the next report.

How do I erase my sales total for day

  1. First you do an X-Reading by turning the key to 'X'. This is mainly done to confirm the audit roll is working. This gives your Sales for the day.
  2. Then you do a Z-Reading by turning the key one more click to 'Z'. This prints another receipt and clears the daily totals.
NOTE: you can't totally erase because the totals need to be added cumulatively. All the data is kept along with how many Z Reading have been done since the machine was new. This is to stop f*r*a*u*d. (Fixya doesn't like that word).

Finally, full 'make model (what it is)' in all questions please. If it is one of those African Government approved hand held calculators, I would need that information to check. My reply was based on a full size point of sale till like a Casio with a money drawer.

Hi, I have a Casio 240CR. I’m not sure what’s happened (I’m guessing staff have orders stuff but no one is currently saying they did) but when I turn the PGM key to Z (to get a reset report for the day)...

If it is printing X at top when in Z mode, you probably have a worn out trace on the key lock pcb. Have the tiny circuit board on the bottom of the keylock checked.

Problem with end-of-day tapes on Casio TE-2400 register...

The 2400 is great machine for what you are doing. firstly, X and Z are completely different from each other so when you say X or Z, one will not do what you want. X mode is for reading only (examine mode). It will print out the total then keep the figures and add the next day's sales on top of them. X mode is useful if you need to check your totals part way through a day but you don't want to reset them yet. Z mode (rezero mode) is for resetting totals. You should be turning the key to Z and pressing CASH to get the daily total. If the machine has not been reset for a while, print each report twice to erase the old total, then show a cleared total. give it a try.

I have acquired an old casio 240 cr and need to reset all the totals can you tell me how I do this please

Great old machines. The 240CR is only simple, so you just turn the key to Z mode and press CASH to re-set the report. The grand total (GT) may not reset because it is usually a security feature, but you don't need it. Just ignore any GT on the report. all other totals should be cleared and if you do it each day, you'll get the figures you need.

How to print a copy of the receipt ?

Hi.
It doesn't look like this model can do it. Copy receipts are usually not available on low end models as the memory is insufficient. You can take a journal reading while you are in a sale though. If you press the receipt button before you press a payment button, it should print the current sale. It just won't show how they paid. You can still print a normal receipt after the sale. If you want to track every sale and see where staff are going wrong, just print the whole journal out at the end of each day (I think it is 700 . X TL)
