Thanks. It's not in draft mode. I double checked.

I don't know the difference between toner and cartridge. Not sure how I would clean that.

I have replaced ink cartridge numerous times and the problem persists. Thanks.

Do you mean remove the cartridge and clean in the narrow cylinder-type hole underneath the round cartridge? Or where it connects at the back - straight in front of me? I tried cleaning both and it seems to have helped a little, but the problem is still there. Maybe I'm not cleaning the right place.

I am experiencing a problem with the black ink on my CLX 3160FN Samsung. The ink is so faded that, no matter what I do, it pales in comparison to the blue, red, yellow, etc. I have the paper in NORMAL (not draft) mode. I have cleaned the connection between the cartridge and toner transfer area. I am not receiving any error messages about my transfer belt, but suspect this might have something to do with it. Also, I have replaced the cartridge multiple times and that doesn't help. I let the new cartridge run for 15 prints and it still didn't make a difference. Help!

You almost certainly need to replace the drum, which runs about $95 and is guaranteed for a year. It's considered a consumable, just as the toner is, but so far I've only found them online...I've been told by Office Depot that the drums that come with the machines aren't of as good a quality (and don't last as long) as the one you'll buy after that

This is a very common problem with the Samsung clx-3160 and clp-300. Buying a new drum will fix it, until the developer blades get dirty.
If your printer looks like this:

Then you need to clean the developer blades. In the image above it is the black blade that need to be cleaned. If there are streaking on any other color, then then also needs to be cleaned.

To clean the developer blades, look to this link. http://losingambition.com/clp300imagefix/ It describes how to clean them. It only takes a few minutes to do once you get the developers out of the unit. Just be careful when you clean the edge of the blades. You need to make sure that the residue is completely removed from the edge. Also be sure that when you reinstall the blade that the little foam does not get trapped below the blade.Otherwise when you print the side where the blade is not properly installed will have too much color.

If you are afraid of messing your printer up, then you need to buy a new imaging unit.

Try cleaning the contacts where cartridge meets toner. Sometimes toner needs to be replaced.
Read the manual..... sound like you've managed to set 'draft' printing as
the default by accident

First off, if you touched the metal contacts on the printer or cartridge, you could damage or leave a film on the contact surface. Take it out of the printer, with a qtip dip in rubbing alcohol, squeeze out access, rub surfaces, air dry, and reinsert again. If still no ink, turn the print end up under the very hot water tap and run for 2 minutes. Dry and replace. It may do the trick.

HP Deskjet 6940 not printing after replacing ink cartridge

My HP Deskjet 6940 is not printing. The color (left) low ink light is dark and the black (right) low ink light is flashing. I replaced the black ink cartridge with a new one but the low ink light continues to flash. No tears/rips in the circuit strip and all the copper leads appear to be connected

Lined printing in black ink

We get that problem w/ refilled cartridges. There is probably a very big clog in the nozzles. If you're using virgin OEM cartridges then you should complain about it. But if its refilled cartridges you will have to do a lot of work on it to clear up the nozzles. I don't suggest you do it manually as it will take a day or so just for one cartridge. Hope this helps.

Ink replacement has not helped print

Sounds like a damaged or dirty flex cable to the print heads. If those tiny contacts go bad, nothing will print properly. Check the cartridge and socket area for any dirt or dis-coloration. The connections can be cleaned with contact cleaner (from radio shack), and then dried with isopropl alcohol (use the purest you can find).
