SOURCE: Craftsman 18.5 riding mower when I engage the

craftsman decks have a positive stop adjustment for the decks. A spring atached to the blade ingadgement arm pulls the tension pully into position if the cable is rusted inside the sleeve it wont put enough pull on the ingadgment pully and thus the blades dont spin full force the belts on the mowers have no adjustments only the pully . second thing is you may want to drop the deck and clean around that pully by scraping any rust off the surface under the pullys slide good luck

SOURCE: Craftsman riding mower noise when blades engaged

With blades on and engine off reach under and wiggle each blade up and down. If you have excess play you will need bearings.

SOURCE: 2007 Husqvarna Riding mower blade will not engage

Sounds like you electric blade clutch is bad. I just had the same thing happen to my exmark mower. I was cutting grass and the engine just shut down. It would not crank over. Checked the fuses and replaced one blown fuse. The engine wanted to crank over but it was locked up. I looked the engine over and seen that the bearing in the electric clutch seized up causing the clutch to melt.

Blades will not engage on huskee LT4200

Probably the PTO cable is either coroded up and struck or it is broken. You will need the 13W model number from serial tag to look-up as there is at least 2 different cable for this model series.

Found large spring at end of cable unattached lying on top of deck cover. Where does the spring attach in order to engage the blades on the riding mower? The lever is very loose and when checking, I found...

There are 4 pulleys on your deck. Two for the blades, these are the big ones on the outsides. To the insides there are two, one on left side is an idler and the one on the right is a tenioning pulley that hooks to the blade engage lever throught the cable you found. Look on top of this pulley and see if it has a piece sticking up. If so the spring at the end of the cable attaches here. Slide it over. You also need to find the clip that goes through the little hole in the end that keeps it from sliding off. Make sure that the cable is properly routed and attached near the back of the deck. If it is still attached, good, if not you will have to find that pin also.

Two springs broke underneath the riding lawn mower 3800 and we don't know where to replace them at, they engage the gears.

First make sure you can still engage the blades. Many mowers use a cable attached to a spring to engage the blades. If that is one of the springs, you need a new cable. For the other I will need more information, like what kind of mower is it?How many blades?Another thing to look for is worn or torn holes that the springs attach to.
