Question about NEC NR 7900A (NR7900) CD-RW Burner
This is most likely an interface issue either on the motherboard or drive....could be software but dvd drives don't last forever. when booting press delete and let it go into bios setup. You don't need to change anything in bios, just try opening the drive. If it opens without delay remove any disc. Reboot PC and see if the drive behaves, If it's still being awkward, with the PC unplugged open up the PC and remove the drives data cable. Start PC, close down PC. Reconnect drive (use a different IDE /SATA connection if possible) Try DVD drive again. If the fault still persists, It's most likely the drive. Get a new one they are really cheap.
