Why is my bin indicator light staying on with no ice in the bin. I have cleaned what I believe to be the sensors but nothing happens. I have ran through all the sensors by holding down the off tab for several seconds. Any advice. It was making ice perfectly a week ago and has since been unplugged

It was unplugged for a week. I do not think this is the solution. Is the bin full indicators the 2 moveable arms where the ice drops into the bin?

My "Bin Full" idicator light is staying on with no ice in the machine at all. What could be the problem. It was working a week ago and when I moved it , it has not worked since. I have had it unplugged for days. IT is a Scotsman CM3. I have cleaned what I caonsider to be the idicater bulbs(mechanisms on both sides of where the ice comes out to no avail.I have held the off button down for several seconds letting the processoer run through all the modes with all the lights coming on and going off. When I do happen to get the "bin full" light to go off and hit the "freeze" tab the compressor comes on for 5-6 seconds and goes right back to "bin Full". Any suggestions with this problem.

It is a Scotsman CM# the light is solid. The water supply is full but it will not make ice. When I hit the freeze button it cycles for only seconds and shuts off.

    It is a CM3 Universal service controller.Model # is CME256AS-1H

If the fridge was unplugged in the middle of a cycle - the bin my be out of sync. A timer adjustment would be appropriate.
Also - other parts DO fail - but without a model # it is almost impossible to give a remote diagnosis.

Please accept this answer to remove it from the work queue - and re-post with the following information:

Model #
if the light is solid or blinking
Steps you have taken to troubleshoot already.

Thanks :)

You need to pull the bin full sensors and clean or replace them. Pull the front cover off remove the ice deflector you will see the water sump tray pull the ice deflector grate out of sump. Now where the ice fall into the bin on the right and left side in the shout there is 2 sensors they will pull out sideways, they will both have a wire ran to them pull wire and sensor up to where you can see the red sensors om them take a descale solution Scotsman brand mix per instructions and clean the eyes now would be a good time to clean and disinfect the whole machine. Install them back and start machine if this dose not clear the bin full light then replace them.

MV450 Scotsman Ice machine

1. bin full when bin is empty means that the bin control sensor is dirty or need to be replaced. But since your having problems with water over flowing also i would bet that your machine needs a good cleaning. is you water full light on or off? if off and water sump try is full then you need to pull water sensor out and clean or replace it. if water sensor light is on then you need to replace water inlet valve.

clean the ice sensor on either side of the ice platen and just past the water trough. gently pry the sensor on each side out of their plug and work wiring out until you can get to the two led lights and clean scale off. limestone scale builds up and blocks the sensors.

Where are the bin full sensors located for cme256ws-1c full light on will not make ice

The bin full sensors are located behind the water sump tray. Pull the front cover off remove the white plastic guard. Remove the ice deflector grate that is in the water sump tray. Now look where the ice falls down into the bin to the right and left side there is where the bin sensors are you have to pull them sideways you can also open the control panel and look where the bin sensor wire runs and follow it. pull the bin sensors and clean the eyes or replace them.

Cme256 scotsman ice machine

Clean the bin eyes found in the back of the ice machine where the shoot narrows. Look on the left and right sides of the unit, you will see plastic vanes that are pushed into rubber grommets. Just pull the eyes out and clean with ice machine cleaner.

The module on my 506 is flashing twice, ie, long harvest, how do I fix this problem , ?

if its been awhile since this unit was cleaned..what happens is your bin level sensors start to get dirty or scale build up..but not enough to cause bin full light to come on...clean machine..acid wash..rince....if it continues relpace sensors...make sure when ice falls they are good size or enough for sensors to pick up
