Their are not many who know how to but I would advise you to try: Feel the motor, if it is quite hot then their is certainly a problem. The capacitor is easy enough to check: without an ohmmeter you would briefly powerup the cap with 120 volts ac. then dischrage it. If it holds a chrge and snaps or pops that is a good thing. If you get nothing then you have a bad cap. I cannot offer a solution to your question. sorry.

Motor seized up! You can try turning it manually. If it moves freely then yes motor has burnt out! If it has resistance, try turning it until it moves freely then try to run the washer! Best of luck

My Carrier rooftop ac blower motor quits blowing. It'll run fine for a while, maybe up to 8 hours or so and then just quit. If I go up to the roof and spin the fan motor and then come back down an

There is probably only 1 wire leading to the F or FAN terminal on the capacitor. You remove the 1 wire to the fan side of the capacitor and connect it to the new fan capacitor. Then you take an extra wire that you will need to make, buy, or find, and connect it from the opposite terminal on your new capacitor. Meaning the other side that of the capacitor. Then connect that new wire from the new capacitor back to the old capacitors C or COM terminal. Clear as mud I know, but basically you run your fan capacitor wire to the new capacitor, then the other side of the capacitor runs back to common on the old capacitor. And beware! Those things can hold a charge!!! Disconnect all power & discharge the capacitor! Hope this helps

Bryant furance cat.# 333BAV048080, with A/C cooling selected, blower motor during high speed operation stopped running, but the outside A/C unit was still running.Check that the motor is free wheeeling....

Hello, sincebthe motor will not run in heating and cooling the first thing to do is check the capacitor, set your meter to ohms and disscharge the capacitor with a screwdriver, if the capacitor is good the meters numbers should ramp up and down, if not the capacitor is bad. To check the motor turn off power to the unit and take you meter and measure from the common wire to each other wire coming from the motor, you should have resistance,if not the motor is bad and must be repalaced. To check the board place one meter lead on the cool/high speed motor tap and the other lead to ground, if therebis no power on a call for cooling the board is bad.

If no relay I'm assuming this is an x13 motor. Try swapping speed taps 4 and 5. It's possible the winding is over heating. Tough one to diagnose without being there. With power off take pic of tstat wiring and remove all wires. Be sure to spread wires apart to prevent blowing fuse. Turn power back on. Red and white together should bring on heat and fan. Red green and yellow should bring on fan and compressor. Try this several times each way making sure the blower comes to a complete stop every time. If everything seems to work by bypassing tstat you likely have a bad stat. Provided swapping your speed taps was unsuccessful. Good Luck!!

Refridge quit cooling suddenly inboth freezer

That could be a broad range of possibilities. The defrost timer, adaptive defrost board, compressor start relay, compressor start capacitor or a mother board. Would you happen to have the model number so I can narrow down those possibilities? If you pull away from wall remove cover over the compressor and then unplug. Touch the compressor and let me know if cool, warm or too hot to touch. Thanks, Sea Breeze

Shuts down after few loads....will run again after cool down.

sounds like motor is overheating,if capacitor is faulty this could be cause, the microfarards should be as per whats on side of capacitor,or motor could be bad ,most motors have a thermistor which stops motor from running if it overheats, next time it happens check if the motor is very hot ,be careful it could be very hot, make sure unit is switched off, also could be an overheated mains wire but usually fuse blows in this case, hope this helps

YOUR OUTDOOR FAN MOTOR SHOULD NEVER SHUT OFF IN THE AC MODE. IT IS SUPPOSED TO SHUT OFF IN THE HEAT MODE WHEN ITS IN DEFROST. IF THE UNIT IS RUNNING IN COOL AND THE OUTSIDE MOTOR QUITS ,THE COMPRESSOR WILL QUIT SOON AFTER. EITHER THE RUN CAPACITOR FOR THE FAN IS BAD OR THE FAN MOTOR ITSELF IS BAD, IF CAP IS GOOD THEN THE MOTOR IS At FAULT. THE OUTDOOR PRESSURE SWITCH CAN ALSO OPEN IF THE INDOOR FAN MOTOR FAILS IN HEAT OR THE FILTER IS PLUM NASTY in heat OR THE INDOOR COIL IS PLUGGED UP in heat.. THE PRESSURE SWITCH USUALLY TRIPS AT 400 TO 425 SO ITS WORKING CORRECTLY. YOU MAY BE CONFUSING THE ISSUE SAYING THAT THE AIR IS HOT AND COLD INSIDE. IT IS COLD WHEN AC IS RUNNING HOT WHEN HEAT PUMP IS RUNNING IN HEAT BUT ESSENTIALLY not cold or hot if compressor isn't running, but a lot of folks describe the lack of cold air as hot when the compressor isnt running. but it basically is warm or house air test the capacitor with a capacitor tester or take it to motor shop and let them test it. odds are its a 5 , 7.5 or a 10. it should test within 10 % of rated value . ask for a RESCUE brand replacement motor. they are great ,reversable etc.carefully oil and sand the motor shaft and note exactly where the blade was located in relation to the grill so you get it back just the same. usually they wire up black to a leg of 220 power. white to the other leg of 220 power. brown and brown with white stripe to the can also pull whole fan shroud assembly on some units and take whole thing to motor shop and let them test motor cap, replace and all you do is return to unit and connect two power leads,

Main Motor won't start-up in my dish-washer model SGS 5302 GB/07 - How would I know if the capacitor was faulty ? there is no smell or no visible damage - could this be tested with a multi-meter ?

not easy to test without special equipment. if capacitor is faulty, then motor will not move but will get quite hot as current is passing thro the run winding but motor not being cooled.

it is not an expensive part - about £8 in the uk. note the value of the capacitor and you should be able to source from a friendly electrical dealer. that will be a lot cheaper than buying it as a manufacturer's spare part
