All of sudden my screen quit lightng up. I have checked the cables and they appear to be connected. Do these screens burn out?
Hello Solution #3 Guest. Do you have the receipt that shows what they replaced? Mine turns on, and I can see a faint glow so I believe it is not a backlight, but, I have nothing on the screen. Like something internal is not sending a signal anymore. I put it on another computer and same problem. No dialogue box or anything.
Thanks, D
It turned out that I had a burned out circuit that the repairman found and fixed for $100.
Try hitting the button that changes the dysplay output. it probably sensed that there was an external monitor and switched toexternal and it had been ever since and you have to tell it to change back. its a small square icon with two lines on the sides
Yes these Monitors encounter problems:
1. Bad Inverter
2. Burned out Backlight
3. Power supply issues
Sounds like your inverter board is bad and backlight will probably follow!
This sounds like your convergence correction amplifiers have malfunctioned. These Integrated Circuits often burn out after a few years (STK392-110) they can be replaced with a higher version (STK392-150) However it is important to have the biasing circuitry checked to make sure nothing has burnt out as a result of the ICs malfunctioning. If you have a background in electronics you can repair this problem with very little effort, however if you do not have a background in electronics, I would suggest that you have your TV serviced by a qualified TV technician.
I hope this helps,
Thank you,
