Question about Black & Decker 14" Grass Hog Xp Trimmer/Edger
The problem is the belt drive between the motor shaft and the drive shaft to the trimmer end has slipped and melted the plastic gear on the drive shaft end of the belt. This is a fatal problem and requires replacement of the drive system inside of the motor housing. Cost wise, probably means you totaled the unit.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

I had the same dillema, till I discovered a soft spot on the label. They put one last screw there. I got the housing open and discovered the belt was broken. Ordered a new belt ($12.39) through ACE Hardware repair center, now I can't get the belt on. That is why I came to this site.
The Ace guy told me he has had lot of calls for this particular belt. If you order one, I suggest you order two.

SOURCE: Motor spins, shaft does not...
I'm in a similar situation with my GH1000, except that it was a part that comes with whole motor assembly. I could sell you the shaft assembly of my trimmer, or I'll buy your motor assembly. Yes?
