My bottome dryer wont heat up but the top dryer heats

My bottom dryer wont heat up but the top dryer heats. I have cleaned all the vents and ducts and there isnt a problem code that comes up either. What would make this happen and is this something I can fix myself, such as a fuse? It says possibly a faulty thermistor in my manual, is this something a homeowner can fix?

I have the same problem and called a repair center to fix. They came out last Thursday and and ordered the parts (thermite and thermo fuse). Waiting for a call that they received and ready to repair.

Knemore he4 taking longer to dry clean vents has heat and blowing fine

make sure the lint filter duct is clean, you can remove the back panel if the filter is on top and remove the duct to clean it or if the filter is up front pop off the bottom panel, remove the filter and remove the duct, also if the vent line is long remove it from the back of dryer and stick a leaf blower in it and blow it to the outside, make sure there isn't a cage or anything blocking the outside hood,if there is remove what's there, also if this is a gas dryer you could have bad gas coils located on top of the gas valve, when the coils start to fail they will let the gas in until they heat up and then after around 15 to 30 minutes no more heat until they cool down again, you can run the dryer next time you use it and after 15 or 20 minutes remove the bottom panel or if filter is on top thee should be a cover on front panel, look at the ignitor,if it glows but no flame you have bad gas coils, hope this helps and next time send the full model number off of the machine you're having problems with

Kenmore 70 series electric dryer wont heat up.I have already replaced the heater and the temp switch

You may want to check the Thermal cutt-off at the side top of the heat duct, or the Thermal fuse attatched to blower housing. There is also a High-Limit at the bottom of the heat duct.

Maytag performa Keeps blowing Thermal Fuse. Vents are clean. Cleaned entire system. Seems to heat up as soon as dryer cuts off.Changed control thermostat as well. Can get one load and replace fuse.

something is still plugged with lint,if the vent line is long blow it out with a leaf blower to clean it out,you have to clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into,if the filter is on top remove the vent line, remove the back panel, remove the lint filter and the two screws in front of it and remove the four screws and clean out the duct,if the filter is in front take off the bottom panel, remove the filter and clean the duct, also vac out the inside of dryer where the motor is,when the dryer gets to hot the thermal fuse pops as a safety so you still have a block somewhere

Hello. Love this site! My dryer is not heating

unplug the dryer, remove the lint filter, take off the bottom panel, now remove the duct that the filter slides into, the thermal fuse is on top of the blower wheel housing or on the top right hand side from where the duct was attached too.pull one of the wires off and check it with a meter, and while you have the duct off, clean it out, also vac out the inside of dryer,if you have a shop vac put it on blow and blow all the lint from the back to the front so you don't have to pull the drum to clean it,blow off the motor, now clean out the vent line and clean out the outside vent,i use a leaf blower to blow out the vent line if it's a long run,if it's not to long use the shop vac to blow out the line, you should do this once a year so you don't have a fire and you won't pop the fuse and your clothes will dry on time, good luck

I have a kenmore laundry station, that has a washer on the bottom and a dryer on the top. I replaced the thermal disks, the dryer heated for about 24 hours, then it stopped heating again. Do I need to...

do you mean the thermal fuse?if it popped again it's probably overheating, you need to clean out the vent line and the duct that the lint filter slides into or it will keep doing this,if the vent line is long you can blow it out with a leaf blower, make sure nothing is blocking the outside vent, the fuse is a safety switch that pops when the dryer runs to hot, gotta clean out that dryer once a year

Drum will rotate but dryer will not heat up everytime

I think you have a clog in your exhaust duct. Cleaning it will require that you pull the machine from the closet. I thnk you will find a lot of sand at the bottom of your duct.

Heat does not come out the dryer and dryer has a new heating element.

check the thermal fuse with a meter located on the blower wheel housing, take out the lint filter, remove the bottom cover and remove the metal duct that the filter slides into, you'll see the thermal fuse on top and to the right of the blower wheel, pull one wire off and read out the fuse.while you have the duct off clean it out,vac the inside of dryer and clean out the vent line, why did you change the heat element?usually there isn't two problems, next time read out the parts with a meter so you're not changing out good parts

Kenmore 11073912100 dryer wont heat up.

remove the bottom panel with a screw driver, there are two clips holding it on,run the screw driver across the top and you'll fell them, just push in on the screw driver aand they'll release one side at a time, unplug the dryer, take out the lint filter and remove the duct that the filter slides into, clean the duct out while you have it off and vac out the inside of dryer, also clean out the vent line, you shold do this at least once a year so you don't have a fire, now check the thermal fuse part 3390719 located on the top right side of the blower wheel housing where you took the duct off of,pull one of the wires off and read out the fuse with a meter, usually this will pop if you need a clean out on the dryer,if that's good, you'll have to read out the ignitor, the sensor and the gas coils,if the ignitor comes on when you first start the dryer and stops when the dryer heats up change out the gas coils,if they are bad they usually fail when they heat up,hope this helps you out

If still heating, clean out vent and check for kinks. Also, REMOVE PLUG FIRST!! Remove back and remove four screw holding filter duct assembly at bottom left. Pull duct toward rear and reach into bottom of duct and remove lint. Also, wash out filter screen.
