Whirlpool LSB6500PW2 Washer have to slam lid to agitate

I have a whirlpool LSB6500PW2 Washer and the problem is my machine is not running and it is filled with water in the tub of the machine. I used to have to slam the lid in order to get it to agitate and continue on with the cycle. I am suspecting it is a lid switch problem and if it is I was wondering how to take the lid off of the machine in order to install the lid switch

Thanks

When you mean swing up the controls and pop the cabinet clips, which is in the back is that correct? Do I need to remove the base that is connected to the actual lid that opens on the machine? I was unable to access the service pictures would you please post it again.

In order for the tech to service these washers, the washer has been designed for the cabinet to be removed to get to all serviceable parts including the lid switch mechanism. One must swing up the controls and pop the cabinet clips, unplug the lid switch assembly and tip the case forward. The lid switch safety quick disconnect going into the washer harnes has 3 wires. One wire is green ground wire. The other 2 wires can be jumped out to make the washer run, bypassing and overiding the lis safety device. HERE is some service pictures. Does this help? Need cheap parts? More questions? Ask away.

THe most likely cause for this is either the lid switch or the timer itself sticking.

SOURCE: Whirlpool LSB6300PW2 Won't Agitate or Spin

if you lift andclose the lid do you hear "clicking" noise??? i bet not. simple repair, lift the lid and with a hollow shafted screwdriver(1/4in nutdriver or similliar hollow shaft implement)you fell with your hand the bottom half of the left side lid hinge. as you open and close the lid you can fell the opposing end of hinge under the top no need to dissasemble you can fell it right there. when you find it simply slip the hollow ended shaft over the hinge and apply pressure towardds the rear of unit. While doing this the top will want to close( your pushing against the hinge).. after appling slight pressure youll bend it slightly, enough to activet the lid switch mounted to the rear of the main lid assy.

Whirlpool washer - tub drains while it fills.

Your drain is to low. Make sure that the drain that your discharge hose is going into is at least as high as the washer. If not the water will drain out as fast as you can fill it.

The water just runs in my roper whirlpool washer and never fills up and wash the clothes

It sounds like the drain hose may be below the tub level. This will syphon the water out before it ever fills up enough to turn off. The drain hose should go into the plumbing drain at a height above the top level of the tub. Hope this helps!

Water runs, but tub does not fill on whirlpool washer

Well...if the water is running, the tub is not filling, and you don't have water all over the floor, your drain hose is installed too deep in the drain pipe, or just installed too low, so that the water is simply running out of the machine and out the drain hose.
