Lawn mower with kawasaki motor overheats, new coil didn't help.

I have a giant mow lawn mower with a kawasaki fc400v motor. When it gets hot it quits running. After it cools down it will start back up. I put a new coil on it, but the problem persists. I am wondering what the single wired module next to the dip stick is? It is in the same wiring harness that goes into the coil. Is it an electronic ignition? If so, what is the part name/number that I should ask for? Thanks. G.M. George

Here is the part # for the iginiter it is all i see in the firing line if the coil has been replaced and gapped properly then you probally have a bad iginiter.they usually run 60.00 to 70.00 range.
21119-2161 and it is called iginiter mounts to the side of the block in a metal case.

The engine stops after a half hour of mowing and will not start until it cools down, after which the cycle repeats itself

engine getting hot. Take rope pull off and clean off all the air fins on the cylinder block, use air how and do a good cleaning. If flywheel still have all the cooling fins it should help the problem or even solve it. Keep mower airways clean.

23 hp kawasaki engine stalls out and dies 15 to 20 times in a 3 hour mowing job. it has a new fuel pump, new plugs, clear gas line(not Clogged). it seems like it is starving for fuel. also sprayed the carb...

This may or may not have anything to do with it however I have the same engine on my Cub Cadet Enforcer and what I found to be the problem was a wire to the saftey switch under the seat had broken. This made it sound like an engine problem by making and breaking contact as I was mowing. My first thought was a fuel filter stopped up as it was sounding like it wasn't getting fuel because it was OK when I was stopped and the engine wasn't loaded.

Lawn mower won't start

Carb is most likely gummed up and will need cleaning. Anytime a gas motor is store through a season, you should use a product called "stabil" in the gas to prevent gumming up. Also check that there is a strong spark coming from coil. To do this, remove spark plug, hook it up to the coil and set it on motor block and pull it over. You should see a strong spark. If you don't see the spark, then either the coil is faulty or the magnet from coil to flywheel is not getting good contact.
