Um...have fun. I have replaced two of them.

the way to keep the mold from growing in the future is to leave the door open so that you don't create that closed moist environment.

About the easist way to replace/change is to remove the front of the washer (I have completed w/o doing that but took a bit longer).

Make sure you keep an eye on how the old one comes off as some of them have drain pipes connected.

To remove:
There is a metal ring with a spring attached, simply streatch spring a bit at bottom of door and it should come right off. Do the same for the inside seal, that spring is at the top.

To install:

put the metal ring inside the grove of the gasket, then align gasket on the front. Pick an edge to start working around as you get closer to the top (I pick the lower right hand side to start working around. Make sure that your spring part of the metal ring is at the top where the one you replace was at.) once you get to a point you need to stretch the spring, this is where I use an 90 degree or more pick tool to get into the end of the spring. You need to make sure that you have the seal tight. Start pulling on the spring to stretching it so that can put the rest on. (You need to keep tension on the gasket so that the metal ring does not slide.)

Now to the front.

Just make sure that the spring part is at the bottom. When you took the otherone off, it was at the bottom. It has to go there as there is a groove. Once you get the metal part around the gasket push a bit on the spring and make sure it is in that goove.

To test, open and close your washer door a couple times. At first gently.

Hope this helps as they are a pain in the rear.

Also, here is a nice parts place for all your Bosch parts. www.repairclinic.com

The gasket was only about $75 to my door.

Try typing in the model number and the letters"pdf." manual. You may get luck and be able to download a manual free! Maybe. Hope this helped in some fashion.

I am so unhappy about the mold problem in the door gasket of my LG Tromm washer. I keep the door ope to ventilate, I dry it out, STILL mold and slime! I periodically bleach the washer to...

Hello- Well, you are not alone in your frustration and the only real solution, unfortunately, is to replace the gasket. As far as the internal parts I have rarely seen mold growing on those parts (in any front load washer), most of the the internal parts are hard plastic and stainless steel and these do not seem to allow the mold to grow even though they are wet a lot of the time. The internal hoses as well do not seem to have this problem. Though it gives little solace or immediate remedy I do think the manufacturers are going to have to come up with a rubber formulation that is not such a friendly environment for the mold. Considering the number of these gaskets, door boots, I have replaced over the years there must be some real issue with the engineering of this rubber or else they would have found a solution years ago. You could try contacting LG and asking them to replace it for free or at least send you the part for free. It usually takes a Tech about an hour to replace. Best regards.

Smell of mold and mold on rubber in front loader

If you don't leave the door open when not in use and not wipe the door dry and the door gasket dry, mold will build up as there is no air to let the moisture escape into. Makes sense, manufactures do no not say this in their manuals, I think they should !

I want to clean can i run thru with vinger, bleach and what else can i do?

With the machine off, open the door and spray Clorox Clean-Up inside of the front rubber door seal/gasket. You should be able to gently flex the rubber seal to get inside of its cavity. This is where mold, etc. tends to accumulate. After a minute or so, brush or wipe away any debris that has accumulated. Be careful not to wear good clothes! Once you have completed the gasket/seal cleaning, begin a hot water cycle with no detergent to thoroughly rinse the bleach from the door seal/gasket.

From then on, occassionally glance inside the gasket/seal to see whether there is a build-up of mold, etc. and repeat the aforementioned process.

Mold build up around ribber gasket . Heavy, black and hard

Front load washers are notorious for developing mold/mildew to build up because they retain a lot of moisture in the round gasket the door closes into. Wash it down with a 50:50 soulution of bleach and water. You may have to use a brush on the "hard" stuff. Occasionally, run a quick load with no clothes and just bleach through a complete cycle in the washer. After a heavy day's washinh, leave the door open a little to help dry it ou.

Mold build up around rubber in washer drum. Can

Buy affresh washer cleaner. You can order it over the internet and this should take the mold off and then if you use this regularly like the package explains it will keep the washer from molding. I use this stuff on all the front loaders that come into my shop. This stuff works great.

Change rubber gasket

Remove the door hinges and plastic covers on the unused hinge screw holes on the opposite side of the door opening (door is reversable, so there are places to mount hinges left and right). Front panel will now snap out at top and lift off lower spring clips. One screw on each side will now release top panel and it will hinge up. Prop up with broom handle or something. Now you can get at everthing. Rubber gasket is held onto drum with a cable loop and very strong spring. It rolls off the lip easily to disassemble but is VERY difficult to get back on without special tools or at least two people. We used strong vice grips and much struggling and sweat, and #@*&%!&@ and finally got it on without damage to the new gasket. Door side of rubber gasket is easy in comparison with rubber tabs inserted into slots and working the gasket into a groove. Hose clamp at bottom of rubber gasket to connect drain hose.
