On my new HP laserjet 2055d on large pdf files I get print failure; device error; page too complex. Any suggestions?

Either make sure that your program is not creating too large a file, or add more memory as that will allow you to process larger files and also make the printer work faster during every day printing.

I cannot install arcview 3.2 gis on my laptop just because my laptop is 64bit and yet this arcview 3.2 requires only 34bit system!

Hello - You have the idea of the nature of 32/64 bit operating systems somewhat confused. 32-bit does not mean it is inherently downwardly compatible with 64-bit. To the contrary, much 32-bit software is not compatible.

64-bit versions of Windows try automatically to run in a 32 bit compatibility mode called WOW64. It couldn't work with Arcview. The actual problem with 3.x is that it has a 16-bit installer and no 16-bit software will run on a 64-bit OS. I checked at the ESRI website and the issue has not been fixed.

If Arcview is essential for you to run then it could be addressed by making your system dual boot between 32/64 bit Windows versions.

Thanks for using Fix Ya

The error message on the display was error message is 900.00 service RIP software. When printing large data files, such as a PowerPoint presentation, the printer would error out.

Per Dell's recommendation I configured the virtual printer to not spool the print jobs and send them directly to the printer. This seems to have corrected the issue so far.

Since I have HP printers on the same print server and none of them have had any kind of issue printing the same large files, I starting to think that the problem is due to either bad printer hardware or print drivers from Dell.

On our HP8550 printer, we get three error messages. "Out of memory" (with no code), "40 EIO 1 Bad transmission" and "Drum kit low". It still prints (very slowly sometimes) and I've ordered the drum kit and...

Bad Transmission is a fault coming from your JetDirect network card.
Try reseating it. (With the power off!)
You could also try swapping it to the EIO 2 Slot. On the back of the device
(Again, with the power off!)
Comms errors will dramatically slow your printing, and can fill the memory with garbage.

HP Printer not printing, activated error code -20

Error 20 Memory Overflow / Insufficient Memory
  • A large print job has exceeded the memory capacity of the printer. Verify that the SIMMS or memory cards are seated. Add more memory or simplify the print job. Remember the original HP Laserjet has only 128K of memory available, the LJ+ has only 512K and neither one is really upgradable.
  • On the 5P turn the image adapt and page protect to ON or AUTO. These can be set within the Remote Control Panel. Press GO to resume printing.
  • On the 5L, set the Enhanced I/O to AUTO (PCL mode) and resend the print job
