Have you had a power surge lately, if so it may have damaged your control board. This is a starting point, I am not that familiar with that model. If that is true you may want to check with your homeowners insurance agent.

888 codes are usually related to abnormal current feeds!

turn off fridge at mains for about a minute and back on to reset!

Unplug the refrigerator for 5 minutes and plug it back. Now press "Energy Saver" and "Lighting" together and hold it for 3 seconds. It should clear the error message. Good luck!

Simple but a pain. Unplug the refrigerator. Get out your hair dryers and start de-icing the freezer door. Slowly but surly you will get freezer open. Be gentle. Dry EVERYTHING!!! Tracks, rails.....then replace part, plug back in, restock.

Drastic power fluctuations such as power outages and surges can cause electronic device to behave abnormally. If the refrigerator display is showing 88 88 (all eights) and is still cooling properly, unplug the refrigerator for 60 seconds and then plug it back in. If the display returns to normal after approximately 2 minutes service is not required. However, if the display does not return to normal service is required.

That good but also not a permanent solution. The ice was built up that high off the evaporator for some reason, more than likely a defrost problem or a poor seal on the door allowing warm air into the machine and forming ice around that specific area. Just sharing the thought.

By the temp control gauge its located either the near the back of fridge or the ceiling of fridge

Hold both Power Freeze buttons for 8-10 seconds. You'll hear a chime when it resets and the correct numbers will show.

go back to your sales people this is under warranty and it's propably a system problem . don't void warranty . // hold on i thought the sysem had failed . ice maker must be 15 deg or lower . to work ... close the drawer and give it 24 and see what it will do . but it is still under mfg warranty . **** ..
