Make sure the thermister is attached firmly to the fins in the back. The boards on a Norcold can be reset a service center familiar with this process is your best bet. It takes disconecting the board and then shorting it out best to leave it to some one who is familiar.

SOURCE: Norcold Fridge will not work on LP gas while traveling.

One of two problems. The auto switch is bad or the lower circuit board is not doing its job. You can call norcold technical or take the board to a service center and have it checked with the tester they should have. The lower board retails for 176.00. I looked at my tech file and it is a little vague on your particular situation. If I were repairing your fridge I would take the smart route and call technical. Hope you get your problem solved. If you need more help please feel free.

SOURCE: norcold n1095 not working on AC...works fine on LP

Yes. LP is direct heat to the exchanger. The thermistor operates through the control to the electric heater.

SOURCE: freezer cold refrigerator not norcold ac/dc/lp and no alerts

Hi, With the information you supplied i'm going to assume there is an ice build up at the rear of the freezer. Your problem is going to be with your defrost system. I will also assume you have the ability to repair this yourself. This is going to be one of three problems with your refridgerator, 1st thing to do is remove shelfs and panel in the back of the freezer...you should see ice build up on the evaporator...don't worry get a hair dryer and melt the ice. Next locate the wires for the heater...using a multi meter test the heater for condinuity...if the heater is bad replace it, If the heater is good replace the defrost thermostat..the stat normally is a barrel looking part clipped onto the evaporator pipe. The last possible problem could be the evaporator fan, have you heard the fan running in the past few hours?..if you are not sure pull the panel out to where you can see fan and watch it over an hour to see if it turns. I have included links with pictures of what the parts you need to check are: http://romulusappliance.com/manufacturers/maytag/refrigerators/575432.JPG defrost stat http://www.hotekalliance.com/UploadFiles/2008627111553382.jpg heaters http://www.applianceblog.com/archives/EvapMotor1018185.jpg evap fan. Hope this helps. If you have any other questions please feel free to comment again. If you decide to get a repair guy in should not cost you any more then $120 - $200 depending on make/model/problem Good luck & thanks for using fixya! Mike p.s. please don't forget to rate this free solution.

No electricity while using battery power

You will not have electricity while on battery power. Two different systems. Electric is 110VAC and battery is 12VDC. If on battery power the lights will work, the furnace will work (LP gas and 12v blower motor), the refrigerator will work (LP gas and 12v power for circuit boards) and the water heater will work (LP gas and 12v power for circuit board). The only way to have electricity while on battery is to install an inverter but you will need extra batterys and still will not have enough power to run the AC for any extended length of time.

Norcold model 1200LRIM. Unable to select AC or LP mode. Auto is only option. Fridge frequently quits in Auto mode. No error codes. Display just goes blank. Battery connections are good; voltage is good....

Try to unplug it from the battery a few hours and then plug it back in and see if you are now able to select the AC or LP mode. There has been a recall on the 1200LRIM, The defect is a potential cooling unit leak caused during AC electric mode operation. Click on the link below to read more:

While working on ac switches to lp with no warning.

If the incoming AC voltage falls too low, it does this to maintain cooling capacity. It will also do the same thing if voltage gets too high.

It might also indicate that the control board is detecting a problem with the heater element. Are there any faults or check lights being displayed after it switches to gas?
