You can usually find a manual if you Google for the make and model, but I could not find one, so you need to contact Conair. There should be a Contact Us on their web site.
The two sides do come apart but tend to stick. Pull the magnifying mirror apart from the mirror that is attached to the stand. You may need to budge it a little on one side and then the other to get it to come free, but it will.
There is a receiver in the fan that when the light blew might have damaged that part of the receiver. I think you can buy them,but you will have to get into the base of the fan(ceiling cover).
