The first thing to check is the lamp. When the lamp on a projection TV goes out, you will get any display whatsoever. Even if you have a lamp light and it isn't blinking, it could still be the lamp. I hope the TV is under warranty or isn't far out of warranty because it sounds like a definite repair issue. It is very doubtful that you'll be able to solve the problem with any type of troubleshooting in the home. If you're under warranty, any repair other than the lamp will be covered. Some manufacturers don't cover lamps under warranty, but I believe Sony will as long as you purchased the TV within the last year. If you have an extended warranty and you need a new lamp, you'll likely be paying out of pocket for it. However, if you need a circuit board or a part to repair one of your circuit boards, that would be covered. If you're not in warranty or you need to replace a lamp, the cost will be a minimum of $200, but could be much higher depending on the part needed to complete the repair.
I hope I've provided you useful assistance and that this information allows you to make an informed decision as to how to proceed from here. Please be sure to vote on my response. I hope I've earned a good rating from you today.
