the blinking is constant, there is no set number of blinks.

  • scpeck4 Aug 02, 2009

The standby blinking is constant there is no pause to determine the number of blink after each pause. I'm aware that the blink counts determine the error code but with constant blinking and no pause, its difficult to determine the number of blinks between pauses.

Would this board be also know as the HV flyback or D board? The replacement flyback is manufactured by ASTI magnetics as P# AI-2305 and sells for 18 to 30 dollars. I just wanted to verify if this was the same thing?

  • scpeck4 Aug 02, 2009

Power supply board can be order under following part number..
A-1316-513-A G BOARD - who manufactures this board and where can I buy it at what cost?

  • scpeck4 Aug 03, 2009

No, thats not the solution. The TV doesnt turn on at all there is only a standby light blinking which means there is an internal problem and its likley the power supply or the G board.

First off how long have you owned the unit, and secondly does it blink for a certain number of times? If so can you count them, if there are pauses count then count again after the pause. Thank you. This will give you a general idea of what is wrong. It is definitely be an internal problem. So you should prepare yourself for considering repair or replacement options. I can gladly give you the sony repair information the link is here:
http://eservice.sony.com/webrma/web/index.do?SR=nav:service_support:electronics:repair:esup&ref=http%3A//www.sony.com/index.php
Once I have more information I can continue to assist you further.
Thank you,
Lee

The first thing to check is the lamp. When the lamp on a projection TV goes out, you will get any display whatsoever. Even if you have a lamp light and it isn't blinking, it could still be the lamp. I hope the TV is under warranty or isn't far out of warranty because it sounds like a definite repair issue. It is very doubtful that you'll be able to solve the problem with any type of troubleshooting in the home. If you're under warranty, any repair other than the lamp will be covered. Some manufacturers don't cover lamps under warranty, but I believe Sony will as long as you purchased the TV within the last year. If you have an extended warranty and you need a new lamp, you'll likely be paying out of pocket for it. However, if you need a circuit board or a part to repair one of your circuit boards, that would be covered. If you're not in warranty or you need to replace a lamp, the cost will be a minimum of $200, but could be much higher depending on the part needed to complete the repair.

I hope I've provided you useful assistance and that this information allows you to make an informed decision as to how to proceed from here. Please be sure to vote on my response. I hope I've earned a good rating from you today.

Please post a comment if you need additional assistance so that I can help you further.

OK, then check power supply board, it calls G board and located at left side in TV if you look from back of TV.
AC cord will take you to power supply board that seems bad and does not provide proper volts so TV system can boot up.
Power supply board can be order under following part number..
    A-1316-513-A G BOARD, COMPLETE
    Thanks.

Though my assistance got rejected yet I would say check G board that is available in Part Store.
Make sure G board is bad before ordering it by testing its output volt supplies, that requires fair knowledge of electronics, experience of TV repair and repair / service manual in hand.
    Good luck.

My Sony tv screen blinks off and on and timer/standby blinks 5

Yes....this blinking code is a diagnostic fault code which is a good thing, you count the number of blinks and it tells you where the problem is.....you also can see it by pressing the buttons, DISPLAY,CHANNEL,5,volume - not + ,then power....In your case it blinks 5 times, its in the video out,you need a desoldering iron, solder, rosin core 60%tin and 40%lead...remove and replace these,Q761,Q705,Q732 on the C board also Q218,Q219,Q220 on the A board.hope this helps.......

KP-53HS10 has a blinking red light on

Try getting a new power supply. Replacement SOny flyback 859882800. That part costs $18 and would be the most inexpensive solution. Unfortunately your probably gonna have to do it yourself unless you want to pay huge handling/service fees. Just google the part number and it should come up. Part# : 8-598-828-00
SONY FLYBACK 8-598-828-00
