Question about Maytag Bravos MTW6600T Top Load Washer
Have you removed the 4 long anchor screws from the back of the washer? These are used to secure the drum in place for shipping.
I have heard of a few cases that these screws were not taken out and the washer "danced" all over the laundryroom....

It sounds like there isn't actually anything wrong with the washer. Some washers will sense when they are out of balance and stop but newer washers just keep going and will scoot themselves across the floor. You have two options: when you notice this happening, stop the washer and redistribute the load. The other option is to create a barrier around the washer so it can't scoot. I believe they sell trays that you can set washer in for this purpose
