Question about Acer TravelMate 2480-2968 Notebook

Acer travelmate 2480 the pin broke and is in the power plug

The pin broke from the hard drive and is in the power plug that is plugged in the laptop. It's still working!!! And charging. Is it worthwhile resoldering pin to mother board?? Can it be done ?? How much would it cost ??

Don't try solder it. you will burn up *********** board. put some super glue on a tooth pick and pull out the pin and get a new power plug

you need to pay for the replacement . it does not count under warranty , type acer service "your location " to get the details in google.

My acer 2482 laptop won't turn on ! It has power runnig to it I think coz when i plug in to pwer, orange light shows on front of laptop. Any suggestions or is it just dead ?


did you try plug it into another wall out let or remove it from the power strip it's plug into and plug it directly into a wall out let.

Vga output on travelmate 2480 dont work


After you plug it into the projector, you need to tell the computer to send the output to the VGA. This is done by pressing a combination of the Fn key and an Fx key, usually the F4 key; it will have a picture of a screen on it in blue. Press it once will direct all output to the VGA port, press it twice will show the picture on the laptop and the VGA port, and pressing it again shows on the laptop only.

Acer travelmate 2480 does not turn on.


the metal rod is an internal part to the coaxial power coupling, which is normally soldered to the main board in the computer. Chances are you are going to be taking it in for repair. Good Luck!
