I can only talk with the speakerphone on. what is wrong with my phone and how do i fix it?

Does it work for voice recognition with only the phone? I can't speak for the functions of the phone. The phone has to be capable.

your cell phone probably has an internal speaker for you to hold the phone up to your ear and talk and an external speaker that is used for the ringtone and for you to use the talk on speakerphone option. You can try to use the speakerphone to speakerphone and see if you can hear your callers.
If you phone's internal speaker is not working, the phone needs to be repaired or replaced.

You have probably noticed that you can place or answer calls by pressing either the green "TALK" button or the "speaker" icon right above the green "TALK" button.

When you press the icon, the phone is in speaker mode. When you press the "TALK" button, the phone is in earpiece mode. Be careful about which button you press.

The technician was correct in the sense that what he suggested is an accepted way of improving sound quality - in other words it stops distortion and in the TyTn IIs case has been found to improve matters. I appreciate that it is by no means an ideal solution, however the Kaiser does have a problem with speaker phone mode. This has been discussed at www.XDA-Developers.com

After you reach your party, just push the round globe button in the center of the directional square on the keyboard. The phone has to remain open while you talk. Hope this helped.

mines is like that... wen you talk to some 1 you just have to put it on speakerphone

This is because the speakerphone and the earphone are 2 different speakers. Which means your earphone is blown, or something is wrong in your settings, check your different volumes.

The 6510H "H" phone is not a speakerphone. You can make internal intercom calls using a simulated speakerphone (H = Handsfree answer back) but you cannot talk to anyone on an outside call without using the handset. You would need a 6510S

I have the same Nokia and same problem. Did you fix it
