Question about Dometic Rooftop RV Air Conditioner

Unit shuts off on hot days

It trips the breaker which I have replaced. When it is cool out, it runs fine. On hot days it would trip the breaker. After letting it sit for 10 minutes, I would trip the breaker and it would run well for an hour or so and then trip it again. Now it only runs for 15 minutes on a hot day before it trips the breaker.
Thanks for your help,
Gabriel

It may be low on refrigerant. On hotter days, the compressor has to run longer to reach the temperature you have on your thermostat. Have it checked for the proper refrigerant charge and have them test how many amps that the compressor is pulluig as well. With the proper breaker installed, the unit should not be tripping out. Make sure that the breaker that is in there now is actually the proper one for your unit.

HotSprings hot tub trips circuit breaker

Could be a wrong breaker for that circuit or a problem with the tub.
• first see if there are other lines on that circuit- should be only the tub.
• Check the specs for the tub that the circuit is the correct amperage.
• if clear on those items, there is a problem with the unit and that's another question.

Have a package unit that is tripping the circuit breaker early in the morning, around 5 a.m. each day for the past few days. The blower fan motor was recently replaced, but it seems to work fine, all day...

Excessive current draw when motor first starts could and most likely does cause this breaker trip. I would check wiring connections to motor, check cold motor start up amperage draw, also breaker may be the issue (weak bimetal spring).

A/C unit turned off- didnt realize we had a mat covering the unit

Hello,
If the breaker had tripped, you'd detect some looseness in the trip switch, even though it may not appear to be tripped. Once you have identified the correct breaker, trip it to OFF and then back to ON. Also check at the unit; it will either have a service disconnect, a fused disconnect or a circuit breaker at the wall. Compressor units have a thermal relay that causes them to shut down on high temperature. Let the unit cool down thoroughly. If this is the issue, and you are standing close enough, you may hear it reset when it cools. Usually, cool down occurs in 30 minutes or less. Try it again, but don't leave it unattended until it has made it through several cycles and you are confident that the unit is back to nornal. If any further issues develop from this incident, shut the unit down, trip the circuit breaker for the unit to off and call a serviceperson.
I hope this gets you going again!

Best regards, W/D

A/c tripping breaker during peak heat of day ,coils clean, filter clean, pulling about 16 amps while running 15000 btu straight cool

Chances are you have a bad breaker or loose wires on the breaker. What size breaker do you have on unit. Heat of the day plus full load on the unit could cause it to trip. Rus
