Question about Vizio L37 Television
After using my Vizio, turning it off and then trying to turn it back on with both the remote or TV power button the result is usually nothing happens. I spoke with Vizio tech support and they think it is the power supply. Too bad my TV is one month over the warranty. However, I did find the power supply available on eBay.
My question to anyone is how do you take it a part? I tried to take the back panel off by removing all the screws, but it does not easily come off. Do I have to pry it off? I was afraid to break something so I did not try doing that. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Its easy take the stand off first

If you're this scratching your head at this point wait till you get inside and see the multi-pin ribbon cable that awaits you...
You are far better off taking this one to the shop and having them do it than causing yourself one hell of a lot of frustration, not to mention what a simple screw-up could cost you..
And don't rely on the power supplies from ebay. You're far better off sending that supply in to someone like PTS Electronics and having it rebuilt - or have the shop you take it to rebuild it than to put your faith in something that critical that you bought off ebay.
I've been in the repair business for more than 20 years. If it was something simple I'd be the first to write out the instructions on how to do it. In fact I've been maybe a bit zealous in over-estimating someone's ability. In this case my friend my advice is get the help and you'll be glad you did...
Besides, a newer unit like that is worth the expense.
