I have a very old rotary watch with the numbers engraved on the back 096017 and 182394

Based on your description, it sounds like you might have a vintage Rotary watch. If you are able to provide the specific model number of the watch, you can use the Rotary watch database to look up the production year and other details about the watch. Additionally, if you would like to learn more about vintage watch care and maintenance, there are plenty of resources online about how to best care for your vintage watch.

What battery size is needed for vintage watch, Mickey Mouse Talking Wrist Watch In Package Sealed , made by Sounds Fun

Tip & How-To about Watches

Changing Watch Batteries
Lots of posters ask "what is the battery in my (name of watch)" with a view to changing it yourself. This is a bad idea for many reasons. You don't have the tools or knowledge to remove a rotary screw on back, or the gasket sealant for a waterproof watch. Some fashion watches have 4 traditional screw and need professional grade jeweler screwdrivers. Also, there are about 20 batteries commonly used in watches, in various sizes and internal technology, Lithium Ion, Silver Oxide and Manganese Alkaline. If you buy them, you generally have to buy 10!

Don't sweat the details. Just take the watch to your local jeweler. They have all the batteries at hand and the tools to remove the back. It is done whilst you wait for $8 to $15!

Came across a vintage minerva stop watch can you help price it.

ebay lists 7 search results between £30 - £190 I guess it depends on the exact age and model and providence of the particular watch. Only a valuation by someone who is familiar with this market would be able to tell you.

I have an "Orient Fineness Ultramatic" men's automatic wristwatch, 35 jewels, approximately 1967 vintage, one-piece case. It runs, but needs cleaning and lubrication. Is there a reliable watchmaker who...

mcdevito75 here, Hello John, Orient Ultramatic, 67" beautifull watch and Vintage, Our Repair Service Directory should have a watch repair person who can service your vintage watch. At the bottom of this page Click on Repair Service Directory then watches. Please be aware, like any machine John, your vintage watch has wear in it, the gears in the gear train, have the slightest play between the teeth, the main spring and hairspring are not as tight (rigid, springy) as they were when your watch was say, 3-5-10 years old, these factors all contibute to your watches off time as a matter of speaking. You may want to consider a complete over-haul of your Orient Ultramatic watch. I am Mike D of the RITE TIME BASICS, listed in the Repair Service Directory here at fixya. (email [email protected])Or you can choose any of the other fine watch makers here at fixya"s Repair Service Directory.

As long as the watch is a quartz watch, the battery can still be changed by any store that changes watch batteries of that quality watch.  I would suggest either Tourneau or Precision Time.
