Flymo sabrecut xt hedge trimmer

The battery is fully charged, but it won't work. I think the problem is that the two parts of the trimmer aren' In contact, but I can't separate them to try again. Any ideas?

Sometimes the battery contacts will get a slight buildup of oxidation, and need to be cleaned. Use alcohol and a qtip, or a pencil eraser.
Here is a website that discusses some things to try for a dead camera:
http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/11/simple-fix-for-dead-cameras-that-wont.html
If none of those suggestions help, you could have a bad on/off button. Take it into a local camera repair shop, and get an estimate on the repair.
Or you can contact Canon support:
http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/standard_display/support
On some cameras, you have to take the entire body apart to replace the switch, but if you're a patient, tecchie type of person, you might be able to do it yourself.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

SOURCE: flymo sabre hedge trimmer blades move but do not cut!

It sounds as if they have come off of the spindle inside and are not synchronised as they should be so the bottom blade is being pushed out of the way when trying to cut. You need to open up the head and unscrew the top to the small gearbox and make sure the bottom blade hasn't jumped up off of the catch point on the shaft.

My trimmer wont start. thought it was battery put a new one in worked for a few minutes and then stopped working

your batteries aren't charging fully, check them fully charged with a volt meter,, fully charged they should have a reading of 18.5 volts, if not they are not charging, and either the batteries have used up their life, or your charger is on its way out

I have a Flymo Sabre cordless hedgetrimmer, which has stopped cutting anything although the blades still move. What can I do to fix it?

If there are screws or bolts holding the blades together, check these are tight, but not tight enough that the blades can't move relative to each other. If the teeth aren't sharp, you can buy a small flat file to sharpen them. This is a tedious process and both cutting edges of each tooth need to be sharpened.

The instruction books indicates that a green LED light will come on when charging and go off when charge is complete. Our NHT518 hedge trimmer only shows a red light, and after charging all night the red...

Check the contacts on the charger and battery are clean. They can be cleaned with IPA or meths.
Make sure the battery charger is slid fully onto the battery, it may take a little bit of pressure to do this because of the springiness of the contacts.
