This article is about two printer error codes, 22551 and 22531. These codes are associated with the OCE Plotwave 345 printer. The error code 22551 means that the printer has lost its connection to the computer, and the error code 22531 means that there is a communication problem between the printer and the computer.
Unplug the printer from wall. Unplug comm cable from printer reboot computer after you connect them up again. Should come back up it the storm did not fry it.
5010 is a scanner error from the scanner on top. Canon has no parts for these and you can only replace the entire top of your machine. If you can get it apart, you might clean and lube, but it's not made to be opened.
Try leaving the printer unplugged for a while and try it again. (Hold the power button down and see if it turns off.) If not, pull the plug out the back of the printer first (if possible) and then out of the wall. (Printers work best when they're plugged into ground outlets-the ones in the walls). Also unplug it from the computer. Hope this helps.
