For that you need to uninstall all usb driver from device manager.
Right click on my computer icon then you see system property then go to hardware -> device manager then uninstall usb drivers 1 by 1 .
Then restart computer then all usb drivers are automatically installed.
Then connect your harddrive if still face same problem then connect your harddrive to another computer then check.
If another computer cant see your harddisk then your harddisk has hardware issue.
It need repairing .
If it is in warrenty take it to service shop they replaced it.

This is not a driver issue. Im assuming this is a passport. There could be a problem with the enclosure, however if it is a passport removing it from the enclosure will do you no good. More than likely there is a problem with the drive, possibly in the firm wear or a module. Either way it appears to be a hardware issue with the drive not your computer. USB plug and play should recognize it automatically without the need for drivers, especially if your device manager is recognizing it properly then the driver is not the issue.

The drive may not be marked as active so try this

Click start/control panel/admin tools/computer management/.

On R/H side select disc management. (or it could be removable storage)

All drives should be shown. If the drive is shown right click on it and mark as active.

Hard disk not detected

Try plugging the enclosure's usb to another USB slot. If the computer still will not read it, then the enclosure itself might be defective and not the actual harddisk that is inside.

To verify this, try to mount the harddisk to another enclosure and test. If the enclosure is still under warranty, you can return it back to save repair costs.

Samsung sp0802n HDD enclosure. I installed everything. The safe remove program detect the massage storage, but the hard drive icon does not show.

Has the hard drive been formated?
To format the drive, plug the external drive into the USB port - go to the Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Storage - Disk Management. The External drive should be listed as USB drive. On the lower panel, right click on the USB Drive and click on Format, and format it in NTFS.
After formating you will be able to use it as a normal hard drive.

Samsung Pleomax SAM MD-205 driver?

It took me a lot of digging to try and find a driver download. You can try the UHD25-80GB driver (this is for Windows 98, but you can try to see if it fixes the problem): http://www.samsungpleomax.com/sup_03_01.asp?page=2&fcate=Driver+download&scate=Storage+Media&tcate=HDD&scateg=Storage%20Media&tcateg=HDD. Direct link to zip file: http://www.samsungpleomax.com/sup/cs/HDD-driver-2500-80GB%20DRIVER.zip

Also, specs indicate that you need USB 2.0 or 1.1. I had problems connecting via a 4-port hub (that was supposed to support USB 2.0) so ended up connecting directly via my computer USB ("Enhanced" = 2.0) slot, which seemed to work fine.

Usb connection on my attache maxfile broke. I still have the harddrive and need a new clamshell with usb plug.

You should be able to buy a USB enclosure from any well stocked independant computer store or online store, i.e. NewEgg or TigerDirect, to put that HDD in. I believe they are available for any standard or laptop IDE/SATA HDD. The enclosure should come with the cabling/connections to install the drive. If the drive is still functional, it should be "plug and play" once you put it into a new enclosure.
