Question about Washing Machines

2 Answers

I have an MAV8600AWW. After a full cycle completed the clothes were still too wet (I constantly have this problem, especially when washing mixed loads!!) Restarted from "Spin" in the Colors cycle but opened the lid about halfway through instead of waiting for it to finish. The drum immediately stopped (like slamming on the brakes in a car!) but when I closed the lid to restart the spin, it won't go. I checked the lid switch and it seems to be fine. I pulled the back off the circuit panel, disconnected and reconnected lid switch wires, but no luck. Is there a "reset period" when it's stopped suddenly or does this model have a fuse that may have blown? If so, where is the fuse?

One full revolution in which direction, clockwise or counter-clockwise? By power off do you mean unplugged or just the On/Off knob (it's unplugged at the moment).

OK, that didn't work. The drum is VERY hard to turn but we did turn it one full rotation. It is not turning on at all.

I tried the suggestion to turn the drum clockwise manually and start the cycle from rinse but it didn't work. The washer still will not start. Is this the only option to get it going again?

OK, well I guess this is going to get too technical for me. I looked, but can not easily see the fuse, nor do I have access to meters to test. I guess I'll have to call someone to look at it. Thank you for trying.

Hi there,

Yes there is a 10amp fuse, and may be located near L1 black input from plug wall. Just trace where the supply comes then you can obviously see the fuses. I hope you have an DMM or VOM to do that. Below is the the wiring diagram of your washer. Please check also your LID switch, if that is defective, your motor will never turn ON.

    Hi there,

Yes, if the technical job doesn't suit you, it would be a very good idea to seek technician/expert assistance. Please let the technician add to his repair checklist the fuse and LID switch. I really think the problem is there. I hope you can consister my suggest/help.

    Goodluck!

    regards,

Wtw4950xwo.Why does lid lock light keep flashing, especially at final drain and spin?

You have a vertical modular washer. And it keeps flashing because there was an error detected by the control board. Is it washing your clothes properly? Or is it leaving your clothes wet when cycle is completed?

Spin cycle does not work properly

If clothes are still wet this mean there is still water in the drum and the pressure switch is not switch in empty position. The fault should be sought in the draining phase. Could be: drain pump ....

My clothe come out very wet at the end of the wash cycle

If the pump is clogged and can't release all the water it won't go into final high spin. Remove lower cover and locate coin catch and unscrew it. Water will come out, so be ready. If it's full of stuff, this is probably the problem.
