Everytime I try to sync my iPod, a message pops up that says unable to read disk? I don't have any disk I am really confused. But, for some reason it can always sync my music, never my movies. Any ideas?

Your computer sees your iPod as another disc drive. When you sync check you have not got "enable for disc use" checked on the summary page. If it wont sync movies right click on it and select "convert selection for iPod", make sure you have selected the movie on the movie tab (or select "All Movies")

Downloaded music to itunes last night, when I tried to sync with ipod nano, it took ages, and then came up with error message on computer saying something like "cannot locate disk" and then I tried again...

It let you restore it and you still get "unable to sync as playlist on ipod has changed"? I think that the restore was an erase and install and complete re-Sync of it. I think you need to try the restore function again and make sure it completely re-syncs before trying to do anything with it.

I have an older 30 gb video ipod and that worked jus fine but when i pluged in a newer ipod nano it doesnt connect and it does with a brand new 16 gb ipod touch. is there anyway to fix this problem?

When you synced to a newer version of iTunes, everything was fine, until you connected the nano and
the touch, which worked fine, and then you tried the 30 GB again and it would not work, right?

Upgrade the software in the 30GB, not with your original 30GB disks, but with newer disks supplied NOW
by Apple, since iTunes went to version 8.1.1 and everything should be back in sync.

Try a full restore from disk mode..... To put your iPod in disk mode. Hold top and center buttons simultaneously until you see the Apple symbol and then as soon as the Apple comes up press center and bottom (play) button simultaneously until you see a check mark. Keep trying it may take a few times. If your are successful, open iTunes and then plug the "Disk mode" iPod into your computer and restore using iTunes. If you can't get it, let us know.
