Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console

1 Answer

When booting up my ps3, it restarts my wireless

When booting up my ps3, it resets my wireless router and then has to reconnect to the PS Network. This is more of an annoyance but can be fixed by just signing in after the router is finished restarting. The big problem is when it comes to downloading updates. That's more of a **** shoot, where it might work, or it might just reset the router and then I can't download. Any thoughts?

I cannot reconnect with my ASUS WL-520GC Router after blocking a mac address. While it was reconfiguring the new setting the connection was disconnected before it was finished. Now it has stopped work

You will need to do a "hard reset" which usually requires you to hold in the reset button (30 sec) as you turn on the device.

They always warn against changing settings over the wireless for exactly this reason.

What is error code 80130182

I've had this problem before and this is how i got it working again, what I did to reconnect is:
unplug and /or turn off any internet routers that are connected to either playstation or your PC for at least 5 mins, and then you can go to your PS3 under "system" , "network settings" go through the steps to find your internet connection manually, scanning for wireless connection, putting in name and password for internet service provider. once you finished, the PS will run a test to make sure your connected and then you can just connect to the Playstation Network as usual. I hope this solves your problem!

How can I use my airlink 101 router to work with my ps3? my router is lock so I can't access the wireless on my ps3

If you're wireless network is secured you will need the network key to attach your PS3 to the network. If you cannot access the router's configuration page via a web browser because you have forgotten the password, you can reset the router back to factory settings by holding in the recessed button on the rear of the router for about 30 seconds. I would check with anyone else in the household before resetting the router, as they will no longer be able to connect to the wireless network once you've reset.

If I reset my d-link router will my household

If you set up your again with exactly as it was before the reset you (same WEP key, wireless network name) then your computers should just reconnect. If you're having to reset the WEP key, the worst that will happen is that you'll get a prompt to put in the new password the next time your computers try to connect to the wireless.

NB - performing a reset on your router will mean you have to set the thing up from from scratch so make sure you have your internet username and password to hand (if it's ADSL) and that you know what your old wireless network settings are before proceeding.

Wireless Internet stopped working. Can't reconnect.

If restarting the router and restarting computer did not work (unplug both power cables), then you need to log into the router and check network settings.

To log into router type the router IP on internet explore bar, then enter user id and password.
You find details on how to do this, IP and passwords listed on the owner manual.

If wireless security settings on router are fine, then you can reset router to factory default using the pinhole switch. You will need to enter all your broadband settings to have the router working afterward.

Orange WLAN light means no connectivity to the network. Try to reconnect to your wireless network and make sure to enter the correct wireless settings like the network key and SSID.

- Physically connect the PS 3 to the Belkin router on one of the LAN connection

- Check the connection of the PS3 (if not connecting through)

- Contact your PS 3 manufacturer to gather the ports of the PS 3 and open it on the port forwarding of your router configuration page.

My Ps3 has code 8001000A and won't connect to the network

Since you're having both controller and wireless it might have something to do with your PS3's wireless hardware.

If both your controller and your internet work correctly while wired then that would help to confirm that.

Test to see if it makes a difference. If it works correctly then I would suggest replacing the part yourself. It's VERY easy to do.

Let me know what happens by rating my solution and then we'll go from there.

Best of luck!

Ive got a 40gb ps3 and a bt home hub wireless router how do i connect ps3 to computer ps ps3 is upstairs and pc downstairs

look on the back of your home hub. there should be a Wireless Key in a Grey box. (BT Home Hub wireless settings)

note the wireless key.

go to your ps3. and turn it on log on ect. go to settings and down to network settings (right at bottom).

(Im not sure of the next section because im currently on a network but it should be an option to find network).

anyway you search for networks. should find your home hub.

keep going right untill you have to enter any settings. and write your WEP Key (Not WKA). (wireless key from back of router).
