MEMORY CARD IS WRITE PROTECTED ISSUE

I cant take any shot from my NIKON COOLPIX S51..soon as it is switched ON it displays MEMORY CARD IS WRITE PROTECTED and even toggling on the switch on the memory card itself doesn't resolve the issue..I tried to change the memory card but its not working either..Please find some solution..Seeing all the comment above make me think like its a problem with the camera itself.

Hi,
Remove the write protect lock off by taking the card out of the camera, face the card towards you, look for a small white tab on the left hand side of the card, to unlock it push the tab down, it will be at the side of the card like this MEMORY CARD IS WRITE PROTECTED ISSUE - 59a6de4.jpg .

If that does not work, take the card out and reset the camera to factory defaults.

Nikon coolpix s51 digtal camera memory card says can not be used?

hi..
There is a tab on the memory card so you will you need to remove it from the camera and change the position of this tab to "unlock" it.
You need to unlock the card itself. Take it out and look for a tab on the left. It should be pushed up.

thank u

Memory card write protected

Check the side of the memory card. Some of them have a little switch that turns on/off write protection. If there is no switch, you can try to format it in the computer first, then put it in the camera and format it again.

Remove the SD memory card from the camera and move the small switch on the side to the unlock position. That should solve the problem.
