Have lanzar 2000 Watt amp...the green light is on and subs work with key turned forward...then once u start the car I get the red protection light? I chained the ground and remote wire...any other...

Chaining may be causing the problem. It sounds like you have the remote turn on lead and the ground lead connected together. They should not be this way. The remote turn on lead should be connected to your head unit's remote turn on lead or a source that is turned on and off by the ignition.

I have a jbl gt series gt5 a3011 amp light on top comes on but the power light doesnt fuses are good everything seems to be connected right and no sound to speakers .

Run a jumper between the power wire and the remote (disconnect the remote wire from the head unit first). If the amp turns on, you got a blown fuse, or other problem with the remote turn on from the head unit.

Remotes don't work, keyless entry won't work, wall remote some

Check to make sure the door sensors are pointed at one another and the small light on each one is lit and not flickering. If you cannot get both lights to come on then your sensors have failed.

My Homelink wireless remote is stuck on fast flashing red light. I can't seem to clear my remote to program any of the buttons to my garage door opener. This is the second one I purchased, I had no...

Try this.

HOMELINK PROGRAMMING

  1. Clear out anything previously programmed into the in-car system from the factory by holding down on the 2-outside buttons simultaneously, until the in-car LED starts flashing rapidly. This may take up to a minute (in most cases, the key should be on auxilary, and/or the car door must be shut).
  2. Decide which button you want to make to be your in-car garage door transmitter. Hold your transmitter up near the selected button, pressing both the garage door remote and the selected in-car transmitter button simultaneously. Hold down on the buttons until the in-car, LED light flashes rapidly. This sets the in-car remote transmitter to be your garage door openers make transmitter, but you are not done. You now need to make this in-car transmitter your personal transmitter.
3. Go to the Learn Button on your garage door opener. The button is usually next to the area where the floppy antenna is connected to the motor head. With Genie it is most often behind the light lens, and an indicator light flashes red when pressed. With Sears or Liftmaster (Chamberlain) it is near, or part of, the terminal screw board, and is a red, green or purple square button with a green, amber or purple indicator light. Press this learn button momentarily. The indicator light will turn on and blink if Genie or otherwise stay lit. For Genie systems, go back to the in-car transmitter button you programmed and press this button 3 or 4 times, or until the door starts moving. This should set your in-car transmitter to your garage door opener. For Liftmaster, Sears, or Linear Megacode press and hold the in-car button you programmed until the garage opener light flashes. Your in-car is now programmed to operate your door.

My amp is not working! i have a live from battery and a good earth, but still nothing, does it need to be earthed to back of head unit?

Do you have the remote turn-on lead hooked up?

There should be 3 wires on the power side of the amplifier.

Ground - to the car chassis
Power - to the car battery
Remote - to the remote turn on lead from the head unit. (this emits a 12V signal to a relay inside the amplifier for it to turn on when the radio does)

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question.

Amp not staying on

Hello lyttle_matt1,

Connect a DC voltmeter between the "remote" (+) terminal and the "ground" (-) terminal on the amp. When you turn on your Pioneer, you should read 12-14V. If you get voltage for a second and then it goes away, either the incorrect wire from the head unit is connected, or the head unit remote turn-on is defective. If the voltage remains on the terminal and the amp immediately turns back off, it's possible that the remote turn-on is not supplying adequate current for the amp. To determine if that is the case, run a separate wire from a positive (+) accessory terminal (cigarette lighter or fuse box) to the amp remote terminal. If the amp then turns on and stays on, you'll need to wire a relay into the turn-on wire. The wiring for such a relay is shown here. Most any 12V SPST or SPDT relay from an auto parts store or Radio Shack will work OK.

The amp stays on with lights and fan running after car is off?

You must remove the 12v power source from the remote turn-on terminal of the amp to make it switch off. This is generally done by connecting the remote turn-on terminal to the head unit's power antenna or system control terminal. When the head unit is switched off, the amp will go off.

Hi i am matt

If the protection LED lights only after the remote voltage is applied (head unit is switched on), the amplifier likely has shorted output transistors. If the protection LED remains lit without remote voltage applied, the amp may have other problems.

Does the protection LED light with no speaker wires connected to the amp and no RCAs plugged into the amp?
