Hello Dear
Depending on where you live, you may be able to receive free "over-the-air" TV broadcasts from nearby TV stations using an HDTV antenna. You can refer to Antenna Web for more information on accessing "over-the-air" TV in your area, and on finding and using an HDTV antenna.
To access "over-the-air" broadcast television, the HDTV antenna must be connected to the Antenna TV input of your Roku TV.

  1. Connect the coaxial cable from your HDTV antenna to the "Ant/Cable In" connector on the back of your Roku TV.
  2. Turn on your Roku TV, go to Home and select Antenna TV. If Antenna TV is missing, you can add it by going to Settings >TV inputs > Antenna TV > Set up input.
  3. Follow the instructions on the TV screen to complete setup.

Trying to change Panasonic settings on my model thc42hd18 tv so that it will connect to my WiFi router so I can view internet on it. Cant find Panasonic settings to do it?

It is 13 years after the end of production. We didn't have routers then!
There is no wifi convertor in your old Panasonic TV.
It won't work without a computer interface between the two.

What are Roku Devices? What are their uses?

They are usually found on TV and they have a variety of apps you can use as long as you device can connect to the internet. For example, I use it to watch netflix all the time and switch my input to cable whenever I want to watch something on TV. It has a small handy remote that I love.

This step may could depend on the model of your Insignia TV. The following applies to the Insignia 39" NS-39DR510NA17 . For the first time setup, press the Home button on the Roku remote and select the Antenna TV icon. Use the on-screen prompts to scan for channels.

How do I get my Roku to turn on?

Hello Dear

Roku streaming players are low-power devices that are designed to remain on and always connected to the internet. There is no "power button" to press on or off. This easy-to-use design prevents confusion by enabling instant access to your player any time you turn on your TV or switch from another source (e.g., cable box, Blu-ray player, gaming console). It also allows your Roku player to download new OS software and channel updates automatically without interrupting your use of the player. Your streaming player only uses your internet connection when streaming, or during the occasional automatic software update. When not in use, your Roku streaming player does not use any material bandwidth of your internet connection.
·USB-powered Roku streaming players
The Roku Streaming Stick+, and Roku Express can be powered through the USB port on your television. This means it will automatically power-off when you turn off the television, but it also means that it will have to boot-up every time you turn on the television.
Note: The USB port on some TV's may be unable to power a Roku streaming player.
·Options for powering off Roku streaming players
Although Roku streaming players use very little power when not in use, you may still want the ability to power-off manually. To do this without having to remove the power cable, consider connecting to a power strip with a power button, or a smart strip that automatically turns off power when not in use.
Note: Your Roku player will have to boot-up every time you turn on the power strip.

How do you set up tv to internet

If you want to access the Internet through your TV, you need a separate box for that. I have a VIZIO TV box that has a Chrome browser included. But using a TV is difficult unless the box can manage a keyboard and a pointer.

If you want the connect the TV to the Internet to watch movies or other TV channels, you need a new add-on device. The best is the Roku device that attaches to a HDMI port, uses a USB port for power, and must sign into your network, possible by Wi-Fi. Then you can use the included remote or the Roku application on a smartphone to control it. Some Roku devices allow headphones for private listening, or voice activation to select your choices .

Installing an inside antenna

You can leave the input from the Roku hooked up, hook the antenna to the round connector that says antenna or cable on the tv then select cable or antenna as the input on the TV and select auto scan and let it scan for live chanels and store them...you can switch back and forth between the HDMI input for the Roku and the cable/antenna using the input button on the TV, you won't need to unhook or re hook anything to go from one source to the other.

Unable to pick up local ''free'' channels following digital change over. Using RCA DTA800 converter and Phillips 2750/27 antenna. Can pick up only one local channel, but signal loss is more often the...

first of all, make sure all your connections are secure and threaded all the way in. Next, go to the main menu and press 5 (configuration) and press 1 (search for channels) if this doesn't work, press 4(signal strength meter) and see how strong your signal is. You may just need to re-position your antennae. If all else fails try system reset(number 5) and repeat search for channels. I've had similiar experiences with mine but I have a 62% signal strength and still get 20-something channels. Hope this helps.
