I have a new Phillips Roku tv. If i am watching something by antenna is the tv still using internet?

It is 13 years after the end of production. We didn't have routers then!

If you want to access the Internet through your TV, you need a separate box for that. I have a VIZIO TV box that has a Chrome browser included. But using a TV is difficult unless the box can manage a keyboard and a pointer.

If you want the connect the TV to the Internet to watch movies or other TV channels, you need a new add-on device. The best is the Roku device that attaches to a HDMI port, uses a USB port for power, and must sign into your network, possible by Wi-Fi. Then you can use the included remote or the Roku application on a smartphone to control it. Some Roku devices allow headphones for private listening, or voice activation to select your choices .

You can leave the input from the Roku hooked up, hook the antenna to the round connector that says antenna or cable on the tv then select cable or antenna as the input on the TV and select auto scan and let it scan for live chanels and store them...you can switch back and forth between the HDMI input for the Roku and the cable/antenna using the input button on the TV, you won't need to unhook or re hook anything to go from one source to the other.

You would need to contact roku and request that they develop a compatible app or contact the app company and request that they develop a roku app. Roku uses itsown pproprietary operating system.

first of all, make sure all your connections are secure and threaded all the way in. Next, go to the main menu and press 5 (configuration) and press 1 (search for channels) if this doesn't work, press 4(signal strength meter) and see how strong your signal is. You may just need to re-position your antennae. If all else fails try system reset(number 5) and repeat search for channels. I've had similiar experiences with mine but I have a 62% signal strength and still get 20-something channels. Hope this helps.
