Re: I spilt my drink on my laptop keyboard...

You can pull the keys out of their sockets and wipe the rubber and plastic holders with a wet cloth. but be very carefull to cloth should not leak, just be wet to dissolve and absorbe the sugar and other stuff that stick the keys. then just insert the keys in the sockets

replacing the keyboard is the only thing that will fix this once this happens. Laptop kepboards are designed to be throw outs.

if this was a desktop i woudl say you coudl try cleaning the plastic boards but since it is a laptop you can get a replacement form ebay and usually decent priced.

Daughter split drink on net book keyboard now not working - is it fixable?

> spilt drink ... is it fixable ?

Yes, of course it is. But, the bill for "parts-and-labour" may exceed the cost of replacing it.

You should be able to extract the disk-drive, and may be able to extract the files from the disk-drive.

I can't open the casing :S someone spilt sticky drink on the mouse and now the right mouse button is a little gummy and not always responsive .

unplug the mouse and put it into a container filled with distiled water. move the sticky keys up and down until they work smoothly again. take the device out of the water, put it on the heating and let it dry for a few hours/days. i used a blow-dryer to remove the last drops - but watch that the mouse doesn't get too hot. done - good as new...

You need to take out switch cover but need to take care on left side because a flat cable need to be disconnected after you lift the cover, after switch cover removal you need to lift keyboard from the upper side (four clips are holding it), finally turn back your keybaord to disconnect from mainboard connector by lifting a black holder.

Right arrow key permanently 'pressed' down

Only solution here is to unplug the keyboard from the mother board. Just take apart the case and look for the ribbon cable going from the keyboard to the motherboard, and take it out.
