Can I wear trainer socks when I am out golfing?

You could, but I cannot recommend it. Having enjoyed many walks around golf courses, playing or caddying, I have to say that you simply should not get by with basics socks. A pair of long golf socks can make a big difference in how you feel. Typically, I recommend long golf socks, but even the standard length will be suitable.

The main reason is that golf socks tend to feel very good on the feet. They are durable, stretchable, comfortable, and generally last for longer. OK, you might pay a bit more than you want to buy a pair, but they are generally very good socks.

Trainer socks will probably end up bothering you and feeling uncomfortably by the end of the day. You spend so much time walking around in golf that I cannot recommend anything but the standard golf socks.

Pain in the foot, ankle and calf

Hello, Kathleen -

If you would like to have an idea of what is causing your severe pain before you go to your primary physician and have your situation evaluated, I refer you to the well-respected health and medical website WebMD and its Symptom Checker:

Please do not self-diagnose and make an appointment with your primary physician SOON!

Good day, PLEASE HELP!!! I've been having problems with water in my feet, but for the past 2 to 3 weeks, is swollen so badly from my feet up into my ankles, and up to my knees.

If you are taking medicine I'm assuming you've seen a doctor. If so has the doc tested for the several things which can cause this condition? The list is long and has some serious stuff on it, like kidney, heart, or liver difficulties. This isn't really the place to guess at it though, especially as we don't know your age or medical history, and aren't doctors.

If you haven't seen a doctor, do so soon, as some of the possible causes need to be treated ASAP.

How to select a good walking shoes? Coul dyou recommend me on a good pair?

People are always asking for shoe recommendations. I don't like to make specific shoe recommendations because everyone's foot is different and people have different walking styles. But there are a few basics for selecting walking shoes: 1.Look for a low, supportive heel that rounds (or bevels) in. A thick heel or one that flairs out will cause your foot to slap down rather than roll. 2. A walker's foot hits heel first and then rolls gradually from heel-to-toe. So, you will need a flexible sole and more bend in the toe than a runner. 3.Next, look for a shoe that is light weight and breathable. The last thing you want is the clunky heavy leather walking shoe.
4. The most important thing of course is a shoe that fits properly. Be sure your foot has enough room in the toe box. There should be a thumbnails width (or about a half inch) between your toes and the end of the shoe.5. Go shoe shopping at the end of the day or after your walk when your feet may be slightly swollen. 6. Do not shop when you are in a hurry. 7.Wear your shoes in the house for a few days to try them out.
