Re: jeep cherokee

If its the original radio .Fuse should be underneath dash driver side it should be 10amp or less (red ) .If it is an aftermarket radio , check jeep fuse first if not fuse will be at back of radio harness or radio chassis

I had to disconnect my battery and dont have my radio code, can you help please (have jeep grand cherokee 1999)

Welcome to FixYa.

Unfortunately you will not get free codes anywhere on the Net for Chryslers. Each of these radios has a code that is unique to the radio and its serial number. There is no standard Master code for these radios and the code must be retrieved from a special database.

You will need to remove the radio from the dash to find the serial and part number on a label at the very back of the radio.

Then go to this site where you can get your code for £7.99. It is the cheapest around and one of the few around that can do Chrysler radios is also very accurate. Just send them the details and they will email the code back to you.

If you go to the Dealer they will charge you £30 for this service and as stated you will not get the code for free on the internet as only a very few people have access to the Chrysler database for these codes.

Hope this helps. Thanks for using FixYa

I have a 1999 jeep grand cherokee. the buttons on radio go up to 5 but my code contains a 6 and a 7 ?

Then you must have the wrong code as the code range for a 5 button Jeep radio is 1111 - 5555
For the correct code try asking at your main dealer or seek further advice here...CLICK HERE

Radio for a 2006 jeep grand cherokee overland will not operate or display

Most likely this is just a blown fuse. You are going to have to find the location of the fuse panel, it should be listed in the owners manual, and check all the fuses that say they are for the radio.

no, sorry. Info on aftermarket stuff for your car is here:
If there was a double-din adapter, it would be listed with the other dash adapters in the right column below factory the wire colors.

Car radio

HI BBunk,

Sounds like the dead speaker took out the amplifier output too. You may need a new head unit.
